Perhaps, but have opted for an outside around 33-40/1, so if it comes in 5th all is well. Ideally 6places would be better.

Will also likely also have a selection as part of an e/w accumulator (as many others may) involving stickball as well as other races, an a novelty event of particular note about to commence. If they all place, the trusty Casio calculator will be taken out again of it's PVC sleeve and finger tapping will commence. Other make of calculators are also available.

Yes . . . but if your 40/1 selection finishes in the top 4 you'll only be getting 8/1 with PP for placing as opposed to 10/1 with standard odds.

I guess it's all about opinion. If you get 5th you'll be laughing, if you finish top 4 you'll have to accept the 20% hit on your place return.

Just wanted to point out PP arent losing anything here but people may be fooled into thinking it's a great offer when really they're just spreading the payout across an extra place.

    I like Houblon Des Obeaux.

As feared he's a NR and goes to Sandown in the Veterans Chase.
I like his chance in it to so I'll be backing him 10s

In the Welsh National I'll be backing
Ask the Weatherman 14s I think he has as good a chance as any IMO
One of the favs hasn't ran in 300 days while another Horse has a trainer who's never won a National so happy to take them on.

The horse who hasn't run in 300 days has won first time out the last 3 years and was ready to go a month ago at Cheltenham. Not a negative in the context

Not sure if i posted at the times or not, but i've had the last 5 winners of the Welsh National.

Coincidentally, they were also my biggest bets of the year. Bought a 171 D Merc with the winnings last year.

Will let you know who i backed for tomorrow soon, probably after the race.

By any chance have you been backing the previous years Novice Grand National winner?

Bishops Road 14/1 is a very big player. The worse the ground is the better Bishops Road is and an absolute monster handicapper in bottomless ground. He has his ground is 4lb better off with 8/1 fav Beware the Bear[who beat him over inadequate trip lto].This seems a race the Lee family target and this year looks no different. The race is full of horses with form on heavy but Bishops Road wants it even heavier.Based on potential ground conditions im very surprised he is not fav

I think he'll go well too, just backed him at 12-1 each way.

I'd give ofaoleains boy a go at 22s.

It's had a wind op and if he gets close to his top form then he has a decent chance.

Raz De Maree. Loves heavy. 16/1

Second in the Midlands national a couple of years back. Second last year to Native River in this race. The 5lb claimer on RDM is one of the up and coming young lads in James Bowen (25% strike rate in December). Has a 16 year old ever won a National ????

I'll have a saver on Ask the Weatherman (3 words again!) who has a 100% record on this type ground. 12/1

    Great shout!

Drift on Mysteree is a mystery to me.. ;)

Doubling in price to 20s on Betfair. Wasn't soft enough?

Glad to see Cromwell and Raz De Maree come away with it though.

3 years between the jockey and the horse!
