    Ulster scrum under pressure.

Great to see a few young Ulster lads tonight. Might be a bit of depth with these guys yet.

The youngsters in the pack need Best, Henderson and an interested Deysel though. They haven't had that over the last few weeks.

Can't understand not changing the front row. Really stupid. TOT has had a good run out and was clearly in major trouble from his first scrum.

Embra scrum really on top. That try was inevitable. I wonder why Ulster waited until after the try to replace front rowers.

He's not helped by Warwick at LH. Scrum was collapsing at his side a few times.

I agree from a game sense Buer, but tbh I like that they kept him on and showed some faith in him.

Don't think it was just down to him in that scrum

    Ah great break by McCloskey.

Edinburgh will gladly take 3 points conceded from that. Smart penalty to concede. Could have been yellow but if Henderson didn't get it at the other end, Owens wasn't giving it.

That's where I think Owens has slipped as a ref, lost his bottle there, Yc all day.

Don't know what the Edinburgh crowd are booing about, that was a clear cut penalty. Even might have thought about a yellow considering what part of the pitch it was.

I'd agree but Henderson went to ground under his own posts and killed it minutes beforehand. Owens had to be consistent.

Piutau isn't going to get away with running from his own goal line against this embra side.

Ah no.....McCloskey injured. He's been immense.

Tricky one. Is he not entitled to compete for the ball as he came in from onside? Or does he have to clear out the ruck first?

Deysel got a penalthy there for similar.

Piutau is a marked man - getting nowhere ball in hand.

Should probably have walked but I think there was a different level of cynicism in the 2 offences.

Yep Henderson's was a very clear prof foul!

Rory Best coming off......Ulster just need to hang on, but Embr very dangerous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,078 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    This frustrating.....no heroics please, Ulster.

I'd disagree. Henderson went to ground and reached his arm around the ball from his position on the deck just to stop it being moved.

The only factor I was argue is that Ulster had a better opportunity in open play whilst Ulster at least had a defensive line set when Edinburgh attacked.

Looks like Ulster are going to get a huge win anyway.

Is the defender allowed slap the ball away (backwards) when defending i.e make no attempt to catch it?

Edit: nice one Henderson. Beast mode
