    If London spent £2 Million on their fireworks display, I can guarantee they received it back at least 10 fold in increased spending from visitors to the city.

    I take it then, you drive on private roads? Use private airports? Rely on private regulation of food, medicine and travel?

    Rely on private companies to care for the environment that you live in so that rivers don't catch fire due to pollution ?
    The Cuyahoga River is a river in the United States, located in Northeast Ohio, that feeds into Lake Erie. The river is famous for having been so polluted that it "caught fire" in 1969. The event helped to spur the environmental movement in the US.
