Just went for a walk outside and it's very windy and rainy. Strong gusts in exposed areas.

Did the Limerick fireworks have some issue and they jumped on the storm as an excuse to cancel? no sense to it otherwise.

O'Donovan loves the auld fireworks and resents professional advice.

Never seen that style of chart before, very interesting. Albeit not much likely to happen in Kildare tonight!

I think potential for flooding is a greater concern ...

Met Éireann will use tools like that in their forecasting.

This was the Windsat scan at 1800Z today, showing a small area of 40-kt winds off to the west.

Hi all. I’m in Castlegregory on our winter break and it’s blowing a hooley. Glad to be in doors and not any further north. Lights went out earlier but not a flicker at the moment.

Horrid evening here in Castlebar Mayo. Didn't get a sense of crazy winds when I nipped out to the shop but the rain seems to be the worst of it thus far.

Not a lot happening here outside Newport, Mayo. Sleeping upstairs in a dormer on the windy side of the house so if it wakes me I'll know it's bad.

They are high but not particularily high, lived on the riverside and without a good windswell that wouldnt get up to road level, low tide towards midnight also.
Looking at GFS and Hirlam not due to be windy either.

Yea not spring tides but the next high tide in Limerick is at 04.48 some extra tidal surge being pushed in on it also I would think.
