Wow. Surprised this was such a hot ticket item. Is there any gig that won't sell out in .05 seconds?

Ara you're right yeah. I just like to have a ticket as soon as I decide.

Wonder what the stage time swill be like? Would be a bigger fan of YYY but saw them both at Pukkelpop in 06 and they were unreal

Hopefully it doesn't sell out. I'm skint but will definitely try and pick a ticket up nearer the gig.

The Point seems to release various waves of tickets for any of the shows Ive been interested this year, so you should have no problem. Git a ticket to Arcade Fire recently and it sold out. Will probably do the same as you now that I think of it.

I chose standing but tiered seating was an option in the website

What exactly is a double bill.

I'd like to see Beck. Not interested in Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Not interested in going to see half a Beck show.

Likely the yeahs starts at 7ish and beck 8ish

I'd say more likely an hour and a half for YYY and an hour and a half/two hours for Beck maybe.

No issues with tickets this morning at 9.15, got standing easy enough.

I would say, in a double bill show, they'd both play the same length of time, perhaps 75 minutes each, or 90 minutes each?

Why not 2 hours or close to 2 each?! Start the gig at half 6 or 7 and be done by 11 no bother.

I would guess it is unlikely they'd play two hours each.

There is another band playing also.

My guess is that if either Beck or the Yeah Yeah Yeah's intend playing any longer than 90 minutes, or if either intended playing for two hours, there wouldn't be a third band playing.

It would be good, no doubt, if they both intend playing two hours, but I think, more often than not, in a double headlining gig set up, both bands would play nearer to 90 minutes than two hours.

An example where bands have co-headlined, in recent years, is Whitesnake and Def Leppard, in December 2015, which was also held in the 3 Arena.

I think they were both around 90 minutes in length. Black Star Riders also played that night.

You rarely get 2 hours out of a modern band, even less likely in a double header. 1hr 30mins each max I'd say

Looks like the headline Beck shows have been 2+ hours this year, but yeah I'd say a double bill will be max 90 minutes each.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭horseburger

Beck played a co-headline show with Willie Nelson in 2015 and on setlist.fm it lists 22 songs and a listing for his gig in Hype Park in June 2015, lists 16 songs, and for Dublin in 2015 it lists 18 songs and for Cork 2015 it lists 20 songs, so presuming the listings are accurate and are not missing any songs, I guess it's difficult to know how long the Dublin gig with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be!:)

    Then YYYs

    Finally Beck.

Ugh support band? If that results in shorter sets for the mighty two I’ll be mightily pished

    I know right,

Such a mad lineup, not a fan of Beck so not keen on this pairing.

And to top it off a support band cutting into the YYYs time as well.

i reckon just a 50min-1hr set from Karen O and Co

Gutted that I had to sell my ticket. If YYY were on last, I'd definitely have made the extra effort to get up to Dublin after work, but the way it's looking I'd have been lucky to get 3 or 4 songs I'd say.

Hope everyone has a great night.

I was hoping for 90 minutes from both.

If you haven’t seen Beck live you’re in for a treat, one of the best live acts out there.

I'm catching him with a slimmer set at Big Weekend.

Well i think an hour is all we'll get for YYYs,

    Support 30min

    20min stage change

    YYYs

    20min stage change

    Beck.

    Has to finish at 10.45/11pm

i'm not filled with hope for longer sets.

YYYs on stage at 8. I was thinking of picking up a ticket for this but not sure if I'll bother if they're only getting an hour or less.

it'll be a 12 song set then, clocked to one hour.

Hopefully there’s only 10-15minutes between YYY finishing and Beck starting. Even if it’s 30 minutes, 2.5 hours of those 2 combined for €60 is not to be sniffed at!

With it being announced as co-headliners, is there a chance that the order doesn't matter? Could be an hour and a quarter from each of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,042 ✭✭✭innuendo141

YYY at 8pm, Beck at 9.45, so an educated guess would mean an hour and 15 each.

Enjoyed YYY's but thought Karen O's vocals were a bit low in the mix.

    Looking forward to Beck.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,752 ✭✭✭johnpatrick81

Absolutely epic couple of gigs. Sound on vocals was terrible on the floor relatively up the front. 3arena is abysmal for sound standing.

Still though, epic performances and amazing value.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 145 ✭✭shamtastic

really enjoyed both sets, YYY sounded great from upstairs. thought beck coming on so late maybe affected the crowd a little, people getting tired or perhaps just me after work ha. what was the story with that, took almost an hour between both acts and didn't finish up until half eleven! was worried he would have to cut it well short when he started mentioning the curfew. great night though really enjoyed it.

I think it’s a brilliant album, and they performed it wonderfully.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,104 ✭✭✭muckwarrior

Lead vocals for both were **** and we tried several different areas from the back to very near the front. At one stage the backing vocals were louder and clearer than Beck. Only a slight downer though on 2 great performances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 706 ✭✭✭WindmillWarrior

Yeah, vocals were too low for both acts. But they were both still brilliant. I thought the new songs from Colours were the standouts from Becks set!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,757 ✭✭✭MyPeopleDrankTheSoup

Is the beck setlist on setlist.fm accurate? I was 8 pints in but thought it lagged a bit towards the end with just crap songs selected! Until where it's at.

Karen o is cool as fùck
