Which TV detective (living or dead) do you want on the case?

Columbo all day for me. Would have it worked out in five minutes then spend weeks wrecking heads.

Someone you wouldn't want in town was Jessica Fletcher. No matter what town she visited someone was always killed. Also, she was always related to someone there. I don't know how Cabot Cove wasn't deserted. She was a bad omen.

So who do I want on the case... I'll have Jonathan and Jennifer Hart please. Murder and cheesey romance, thank you very much

I don't have to imagine - I used to live in Dublin.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

That bit where he smoothly grins and skids off in the sports car during the opening titles is probably seared indelibly on the brain of every man of a certain age group.

:pac: It was funny looking back how he kept mentioning her but yet never saw her.

Oddly enough there was a Mrs Columbo Tv show tho with Kate Mulgew (Star Trek Voyager)

Sorry, but this thread reminded me of a person I knew who was murdered on December 8th in a robbery.

I live in a town where there was very little serious crime when I was growing up, but somebody a few doors before went missing (and was murdered) when I was 7. My father was one of the people questioned due to his proximity but was fine. (I even remember the Garda Patrol reconstruction for RTÉ.) No sign of Jessica Fletcher,

Having said that...Columbo is a head-wrecker but I'd go with him. I do that in work. I supply spare parts for factory machines. Sometimes people come in with a description that isn't enough (but I'm good enough) that I say "No. But if it's purple...I think I might have it", or some other non-descript description (yeah, a bit of an oxymoron). As they are walking away, 'dejected' I get it for them. I have over 8000 parts to look after, but I know my stuff.

That's how I get my thrills. Sad, really...

They think I have a photographic memory but I don't. Just a good memory.

Luther, just to see the locals freak out over seeing a black man in town rather than the actual murder that has taken place!!

I reckon she was the cleverest serial killer on TV. Turn up, murder someone and then pin it on some poor innocent who she could make look like having a motive.
