Hi all, The AutoSave Draft feature is now disabled across the site. The decision to disable the feature was made via a poll last year. The delay in putting it in place was due to a bug/update issue. This should serve as a reminder to manually save your drafts if you wish to keep them. Thanks, The Boards Team.

I want to do this but assume I need at least a 3/4 zipped two-piece or one piece suit?

Any experienced trackdayers got clothing tips before I empty my pitiful bank balance on the wrong things?

2 piece textile or leathers that zip together.
    Gloves n boots.
And a helmet with double d ring straps.

Thats all you need for the trackday.

Dont go blowing loads of money until you have done a few trackdays and see if you actually like it.

You can use textiles on the training day not on trackdays . Leathers have to zip 3/4 way around or 1 piece . Helmets don't need to be double d ring , that's for racing , but it is recommended . No open face lids .

I think I'm going to do a track day in 2018 but will have to figure out getting the bike up and down because I wouldn't like to ride home to Clare after it

I’ve never done a track day and coming back to road bikes a training day might be helpful.

How do the training days work? Is it a slow steady build up of pace? Don’t want to be out there on stabilisers and in everyone’s way as I’m sure I’ll be the slowest.

Who should I contact? Thinking mid April.

Cheers Stewy, had a look at the thread. Looks like a plan to me and would be a good safe way to know the bikes capabilities. I'll give Darren a shout. Couldnt see pics unfortunately due to those photobucket tossers

Was great fun today, couldn't meet a nicer bunch of lads!!

Only actually got the hang of it last 5 laps of the day i did where I would say my times improved 10 seconds a lap compared my middle laps so that was good but a bit annoying lol

Some of the lads had serious talent, could definitely race there if they wanted to

Lads has anyone done the trackday training course? Two of my friends are doing it and want me to join. I did one trackday before but it was wet so really spoiled it for me. Would like to learn properly and get some instruction. Is it any use?

Did it with Goose on here a couple of months back. It was excellent. We did a couple hours in morning in with classroom tuition and carpark stuff in-between. Good laugh. then after lunch, you are grouped with 1 or 2 other bikers and split off with various instructors. Once you find your feet they leave you be or give you help depending on if you want it or not.

They said that "in most scenarios a training day yields more actual track time that a "track day" ".I learnt a whole lot and consider it well worth it.
From ~2pm till 5, I was on the track with only a few pits to give ME a break.

"Two of my friends are doing it and want me to join"

I'm not sure any more training days are on this year. You will have to wait for next year I believe.
