I'm guessing Matt will be going straight through......

Wouldn't do it for me, I have to say - moss on my dinner is not something I'm hankering after, tbh - but it seems to have gone down a storm with the judges.....

    Wow Matt !!
Hard choice for the judges so far.

Jeepers..... Jamie's carrot "steak"..... with a knob of butter about three times the size of the carrot

If Jamie gets far in this series, he'd better give credit (and half his prize) to his Spanish girlfriend!!!

My three faves that I mentioned earlier gone through - Louisa, Matt and Craig. Phew!

Tonight was really tough for the judges. Stunningly good food and presentation.

Last week and so far this week have been as tough as I've ever seen.

One mistake and you are gone.

Matt's private celebs that he works for are lucky people.

Holy crap what a surprise that was ?

Wow, that was one of the biggest upsets I've seen in Masterchef. The standard is just amazing this year.

That was a tough decision I would say

I'm delighted that Stephen got that feedback and got through. He seems like a nice chap, easy going and friendly but my God what a talent! He works so hard but he seems to live for it. I'll be rooting for him!

Matt was undoubtedly a superb chef but there was just something I didn't like about him. But I expect he'll become one of the top chefs in the UK over the next few years even without the Masterchef accolade. He was very impressive!

I like Jamie as well. I think he seems so different to the chef stereotype of being a shouty moany bastard. He's so soft spoken that sometimes I struggle to hear what he's cooking! But he's the main chef who's dishes I've said I'd like to eat the whole way along.

I would expect Luisa and Craig to go through tomorrow- the other guy (who's name escapes me!) has sort of stumbled through due to others making worse mistakes than him. But then I wouldn't have predicted Matt to go so we shall see tomorrow!

Those guys are stunning in their cookery. Mind blowing!

Matt, my favourite, seemed to succumb a little to nerves i.e. hands shaking in the two Michelin star restaurant.

So heart-breaking to see one of them go! Jamie and Stephen really excelled themselves.

    Well...... I wasn't expecting that!!!

Although I do think his dish was the "weakest" in the last round .... his parfait not setting was basically the only mistake any of them made! And making the chef's signature dish the day before, his was the chef's least favourite.

Can't say I could see the attraction in Stephen's chicken'n'sweetcorn dish myself, visually it did absolutely nothing for me, but clearly it tasted amazing.

Agree that Jamie is a most unusual personality for a chef, he's a quiet lurker in the long grass, methinks.

Will definitely be rooting for Louisa and Craig tomorrow, they've been favourites of mine all along - the other fella (Tom?) has just been a bit bland.

Being inspired by the final task set to the guys in the restaurant, the salad, I decided to have a salad as my midnight snack.

Not having done my weekly shop, there was precious little to choose from in the fridge.
So i had some iceberg lettuce, celery heart , leaves and all, cherry tomatoes cut in half, some Supervalu green olives and goat's cheese cubes. For a bit of "smokiness" which the judges really seem to like, I cut up some smoked salmon into chunks. Also liked the idea of some protein in the salad that the smoked salmon would bring.

For a different type of crunch, I cut up some buttered toast into croutons and added them. I was out of French dressing and was too lazy to make it, but did have some homemade egg-free mayonnaise that I had made myself. Dotted around some dollops of that.

Being on a roll by this stage, and realising that I had had two slices of toast - what to do with the 2nd one? I had the sudden inspiration to slather on some of my special rhubarb and ginger jam that I'd made in the Summer, on this slice of toast and have it on the side with the salad.

I don't know what the judges would think of that, but I must say, my stomach loved it. Would never before have thought of putting rhubarb and ginger jam with salad and was so surprised at how well it worked. LOL!

Spot on, Heidi Heidi. That's exactly where I stand too as regards my two other favourites, Louisa and Craig.

Eyepatch your dish might have been tasty, but you seemed to have dumped it on the plate without any eye for presentation. I also felt that there was too much going on there.

    Lol

LOL! The experiment is now complet. I've had my judgement from the new Boards Judge. I'm wondering have I blown it or can I scrape through to the next level. I promise to work on presentation next time. :D :pac:

You are through the first round. You will now join the really good contestants, who both will cook flawless dishes. You will then follow that and fold under the pressure ( e.g. your icecream will not have set in time and will be a puddle on your plate).

You will then say you enjoyed the experience, while everyone else sips some champers.

LOL! I once went to an audition for a cookery show in Ireland. Can't remember what it was called. I don't think it was Masterchef. I had to bring a pre-prepared dish with me. When I saw what everybody else brought, and how minimalist thier dishes were, I knew I had far too much on my plate.

A producer tasted every part of my dish, which had grilled mackerel, salad and homemade brown soda bread. Part of the rules were, she was forbidden to comment on the dish. I don't know how she did all of that tasting, because there was about 100 entrants there.

Everybody was amazingly nice, and it was a lovely experience. The deal was, I would be notified if I got through to the next stage. That's where it ended. Never heard from them again. LOL!

Even if she doesn't win master chef, I think Louisa will be getting a lot of job offers based on her performance. She was loving it.

I'm falling further and further behind, watching online and t'internet is struggling big-time :(

Tom has just been shown his dish for service and looks like he's in mild shock!

What's with the "brigades" this year? "Teams" must have gone out of fashion and nobody told me!
