    Aye getting there myself gents.
The last week has been pretty much just grind out warfronts. There's only so many times I can get another pair of the same shoulders without losing the plot.
Now that we actually control Arathi, what is there to do? Done the quests and rares but no idea if they're weekly or daily.

Even at that, one of my main peeves right now is the shoddy state of their servers. Holy crap it's so damn bad on a fully populated realm. The lag is unbearable.

The rares are per battlefront so once every 2-3 weeks.

I have a couple of weeks left on my sub and I will be cancelling then. Is it me or does even the world first race for the raid seem underwhelming, even for the participants. Many of the Method players are now livestreaming their progress. I believe it's to try and garner some sort of interest.

So even less to do for the next few weeks. This was well thought out :pac:

Apparently the reason its so sparse is that at one time you will have many warfronts up. I await to see if that happens though.

You jump on your Alliance alt and do it all again, obviously

Isnt the Alliance one not live yet?

8.1 looks like it's bringing in some good changes, but it'll be interesting to see if it's enough to keep people interested.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,278 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

PROT warrior is an absolute hot mess, i had one at 120 and couldn't keep him alive properly, I know have my Prot Pally and much happier tanking with him.

It'l be interesting to see what 8.1 does to change Warriors as i love their class lore and leaping into battle, but he's just unplayable right now.

Told my guild that if we got a prot warrior for raiding i wasnt healing it. In the right hands they can be just ok but there are allot of **** tanks who dont know how to play and turn dungeons into a wipefest. Even if you can keep them alive you sacrifice the whole team to keep them up.

Having Ignore Pain on the GDC is a nightmare, in-fact any defensives on the GCD is counterproductive.

I'm still holding out against all hope that they'll allow the Zandalari to be Paladins.
I have my 110 sitting there but I'll happily delete him and start fresh if they do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,278 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Undead Pally would go against the Class lore being a terror to undead.

But i agree they need more classes on the Horde side that can be Paladins.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

Yea I know lore-wise it's a bit of a cockup for the Horde regarding Paladins. But Blizzard have made bigger cockups than that and I'm fairly sure they could squeeze something in to have it make some sort of sense.
I don't actually care which race would get it. I'd be happy with just about any of them and I really don't care about the lore aspect behind this one.
I've wanted to try out a bit of tanking this xpac but not bothered because the thoughts of leveling that cow are just annoying :pac:

Overall, while I know they want to stick to the lore as much as possible, they gotta find some balance fun-wise as well. Small sacrifices can be made imo.

Sure with Calia Menethil being a Lightforged Forsaken now, they can pretty much do whatever they want.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,447 ✭✭✭Calhoun

There is precedence in the lore for undead being able to wield the light, Alonsus Faol ect.

Also as shown by the likes of the blood knights and even Tyrians story a big part of wielding the light is belief.

Zandalari Paladins and Kul Tiran Shamans confirmed
WoW Classic included in your existing sub
    Warson and Arathi Basin updated
Bunch of other minor stuff so far

Looks interesting not as bad as the Diablo news lol :P.

    Is anyone actively playing anymore?

Azerite Traits killed the whole thing for me. I just couldn't give any less of a **** about levelling up that stupid necklace to re-unlock the same ****ty traits time and time again on new loot.

They really shoe-horned the Legion Weapon idea into these Azerite pieces and it just fundamentally does not work. It's a real shame, too - because the BFA zones and dungeons were very enjoyable.

I think they've also missed a trick by keeping the "old" Allied Races gated behind reputation from a previous expansion. It seems a bit ridiculous that if I want to play a Void Elf, for example, that I need to level some random Alliance character to 110 - farm quests and reputation for 2-3 weeks, then create my new character and level to 120 again. Thanks but no thanks.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,077 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Nope, i stopped a while ago, and have no desire to go back. I probably will at some stage, but i didn't really enjoy any of BFA, bar some of the story during the leveling experience, and then they went and hid the last scenario behind a mythic dungeon. So **** that.

MMO's are pretty much dead for me now tbh. Can't ever see myself getting invested in one again.

Same here, finished up a while ago. No great desire to resub. Might dipp in again over Christmas

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,278 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Same, killed my sub as i got back off holidays and had a backlog of console games to play and the thought of playing catchup was incredibly unappealing to me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,447 ✭✭✭Calhoun

There is nothing exciting or sexy about the neck or azerite.any just aren't bothered as it's such a **** system .

In legion you had skins to unlock, you had the suramar area and all that went with it

Island expeditions are boring, the warfront is ok content for about 30 minutes once a month. 35 mins if you had the time taken to kill the world boss when it's up.

The big issues I have with allied races is the 1-110 grind for the nice armor, I have done lore master I don't particularly want to level again. I would consider it if we had a new class but we don't .

I also dont get locking Allied racers behind the last expansions rep. So stupid.

Also, the Azerite armour was a really bad idea, didnt like it when they announced it. Dont like it now.

I unsubbed a few weeks back. Really disappointing expansion and I don't plan on going back. I am getting some enjoyment casually playing legendary server on Lotro. It's free for me and it's the only mmo I will play unless they make one based on the Wheel of Time series of books.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Noxin

Turned it on at the weekend for the first time in 3-4 weeks. Killed g'huun in LFR to finish a quest line and logged off again. Very little interest right now.
That said... apparently my wish for Zandalari Paladin has come true so that might bring me back for another levelling experience. We'll see what 8.1 brings I guess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,447 ✭✭✭Calhoun

I honestly am stumped, i don't think i have turned off wow so fast before. I am not playing at all right now, nor do i care.

Its like the handling of gear and rewarding has basically put me into a position where i don't care. From two perspectives, i don't care about gear upgrades and i dont care about cosmetics as its the same old crappy skins shared across the gear type.

In legion right now id be farming artifacts ect, the heart is a load of crap, so why bother.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

And the absolute worst thing is that you could spend BFA playing a class and specialisation you really love and enjoy (like I did during WoD with Mistweaver Monk) and you could raid and gear that character up for the entire expansion. And then Blizzard will just decide to nuke it for the next expansion and re-work how the entire spec plays. And you might not like this sudden and unnecessary re-work of your class and spec, so you just give up on it.

The fact that that possibility of all your hard work being completely thrown out on the whim of some developer is balls.

I think it's pretty obvious the constant changes are to keep you coming back for more, and to keep playing - mass changes mean more re-rolls, more re-rolls mean more levelling and more levelling means more time which means more sub fee - or more in-game shop spending. I think this time though, Blizzard have pushed the player-base too far.

I honestly can't see myself coming back to things for future expansions. Sure I'd have to level my characters to 120 to even begin future content anyway. No thanks.

It's funny because I essentially stopped playing back during cata (probably around 2011) and have only recently gotten interested in playing again, I'd dipped my toes in a couple of times to play but nothing serious.

I've noticed obviously a lot of changes from playing back in those days, but one of the biggest ones is the lack of chat, at the moment I'm just fluting around with leveling up my characters but it really seems like a solo game at the moment.

I'm assuming Blizz have done something to either block or restrict world chat? I know in the past some of it could be annoying with people trying to sell crap but some of it was funny too, just seems odd not seeing it there.

I was a nelf resto druid back when I played, and had a lot more free time to raid / run dungeons back then, to be honest I'm not sure if it's worth forking out the €25 now on the BFA expac while it's on sale if I'm not going to see large parts of the game due to lack of raiding etc.

Currently, I'm still doing the stuff from pandaland, haven't even got to the part where the alternate universe or whatever kicks in.

Do you folks reckon it's worth sticking with it as a solo player for the content of the last few patches? I don't really get to play that often, usually just at weekends.

A lot of the instances are sharded but i dont think that effects chat.

I noticed when i was playing that there was 0 chat in areas and that people just werent interacting anymore, i remember back in legion people were chatting away and the community seemed alive. Now, now it felt very much like a solo game to me.

One of the main reasons i stopped playing.
