Is it possible to start a new job while on sick leave with resignation letter at previous job?

Anything's possible.

Just make sure you're not getting sick pay from old job when you begin the new job. That would be dishonest.

If you are on sick leave, the presumption is you are unable to work due to illness. If you start another job, you are well enough to work so you must stop recieving illness benefit from DSAFA/pay from your current employer. You can't continue to receive benefits after you begin your new job, up to the date you receive your first wage.

Nothing to stop you handing in notice while on sickleave.

I do know that nothing is stopping me to resign while on sick leave.
I have to start a new job tomorrow but i have to give notice 2 weeks to my current employer so no time for 2 weeks notice....what should I do?
please please help

If you are on sick leave, how are you fit to start a new job?

Oh my god.. you got a job?

Start your new job.

Phone existing employer and tell them you will not be returning from sick leave and will forward them your resignation letter asap.

Then tomorrow, you turn up to your new job.

And at your convenience, forward a resignation letter to your old employer.

i ve read that i can be accused of fraud...
getting sick paid and salary from a new job...
how can i call sick without my current employer to pay me sick leave?
if i email the resignation letter they will stop paying me sick leave?

So resign from your first job immediately. Tell them to stop paying you sick pay. You really should have done this as you accepted a new job.

I am not...but i was thinking to do so just to cover 2 weeks notice...
i dont want to be paid sick leave....is there any way that i can say this to my current employer?

No. Just start your new job and phone your current employer and quit

Op, you can't have it both ways, sick pay from your old employer and standard pay from your new employer.

Contact your current employer, tell them you are resigning with immediate effect, they won't expect notice as you are currently off work. They will stop your sick pay with immediate effect. Start your new job and then wait for your first pay.

What you CANNOT do, is start your new job and continue to receive sick pay from your current employer. If you are no longer ill then either you are no longer entitled to be paid by your old employer unless you return to work there.

You don't. You resign effective immediately.

Did you just get this new job today? Surely you have had a couple of days/weeks to plan for this?

Phone tomorrow morning, tell your old employer you are resigning with immediate effect and to stop your pay as of today. You are now obviously well enough to work so no longer entitled to be paid while out sick, so as far as your employer is concerned, after tomorrow you are with no longer working there or absent without leave, either way you don't get paid.

if you are no longer ill, then you either resign with immediate effect and stop being paid, or you go back to work and work your two weeks notice.

Op, if you have been off ill and your employer has been paying, trust me, they will be happy to accept immediate resignation without notice.

op you technically shouldnt be both well and sick at the same time
but becasuse your doctor decided to give youba sick note for your old job
i assume due to stress or sinilar you are
tell your current employer you quit and that you are not giving nitice as you are sick
or give two weeks notice and get paid for them and then commit fraud
its up to you
