He played 2 nights there back in 2011.
    Was a reality for me!

Presuming the Steve your referring to is Mozza!

Tbh I hate vicar street, and the 3 arena is pretty soulless! I might jet off for this one!

Someone bought 2 and put them straight up on Seatwave for €200 each. Don't even think this will be a sell out. :D

Indeed. This is selling out at 76 per standing ticket. You'll pick one up from a tout for 40 outside.

Still standing available on Ticketmaster so I'd say the armchair touts are a bit worried.

They'd have to list them for around €65ish to match Ticketmaster's facevalue (including fees). Then they have to pay a fee from that €65.

Sorry meant to say this isn't selling out. Steves latest batch of silly comments won't help.

They were selling Steely Dan tickets for half price on Saturday night outside.

My 12 year old son wants to come to this gig with me.

Unfortunately, he can't be in the standing area due to his age. He's a tall lad, about 5'7 but I'm now forced to seating tickets at over €80 with fees. That's too much.

I haven't missed a Morrissey gig in years. The last one in the Point was about 75% full (in a restricted capacity - curtains in the seating areas etc). The last gig was poor enough as the last album was poor. Except for Asleep, Everyday is like Sunday etc, the crowd were quiet.

I've seen the setlist for his gigs in the US this week and it's the new album with 4 or 5 favourites. I like "Spent the Day in Bed" but I'm going to wait until I hear the album before I decide whether to go or not. €160 for me and my boy plus travel, grub etc makes it a over €200 night out.

    :(

Hold off until the week of the gig and you'll pick up tickets for buttons.

not sure if I ever heard of someone turned away due to this. I would be shocked if a 5'7' lad was turned away going in with a parent, could be 5'8' by the time of the gig!

Will Mozza request that no meat products are sold in the venue for the gig?

Yes, he always insists venues go meat free on the night.

I never get the giving out about this... Do people come to a concert for dinner!?.... The food is ****!

Having said that I'm sure the guys outside the venue will be selling burgers and hot dogs. Let's hope it's kept out of Mozza's eye line! It seems cancelations are creeping back into his tour again, here's hoping he is in good health!

My guess is he is not going to the gig and is just getting a dig in. I see no complaint, more than likely a hit & run post. I thought there would be more discussion about his "weinstein" comments, and the potential for promoters to feel obliged to cancel, which would be a shame. Maybe the fact that a female, especially an elderly "stateswoman" like Lansbury said similar has calmed things. I imagine the promoters are delighted that sexism and ageism is still so utterly rife, and so can downplay his comments.

I'm sure you heard he upset some Scottish folks in Glasgow by slagging off Nicola Sturgeon. Some people walked out! One can't be too sensitive if one goes to see the Moz. Always stirring things. A bit of a wind up merchant.
    Enjoy the gig.

Weirdos are cool :) I'm here in 3arena near enough to the front with my 15 year old son. His first concert. Starting to fill up and not a burger in sight

Jaysus, the flows were great, but the ebbs were rough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,173 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Very good gig better then his last one in 3arena. The flow of songs just seemed to work better this time. Saying that crowd where awful. Some bunch of saps around me talking whole way threw it.

When his cover of the pretenders gets a great reaction above most of the other songs that says it all......

Some prick in front of me ended up face timing his missus half way threw it.

Shame cause he sounds as good as he ever has!

Don't understand people turning up to gig who clearly never listened to the album that's mostly being played threw out the setlist.

Great gig, far far better than last time he was here, much better setlist. Much bigger crowd than I expected, dunno what happened last time.
Thought he was in great form, and at least the carnage videos were scaled back this time, much more enjoyable experience all round.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 388 ✭✭setanta74

Some voice in fairness, it has held up well over the years. The new album is great and the songs played super live. Seriously talented bunch of musicians on stage too.
Really enjoyed it last night and he was on good form. Enjoyed the stage setup too. The opening image with Thatcher and the riot cop on the horse with a baton was superb.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,493 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

Missed him last night. Cant do em all and I'm not hugely keen on the new album really but sounded great from the clips I saw. How Soon is Now too!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,457 ✭✭✭ZV Yoda

Long time fan here, so I've seen him a good few times. I thought it was average. The sound was muddy where we were standing.

Talk about a mixed crowd - great to see such a diverse fanbase.

His voice was good & strong for the most part, but I thought it was a weak setlist. I think the new album is one of his worst, so the new songs didn't really do it for me. I loved the World Peace album & thought he was much better on that tour.

That said, the stage was great & the backdrops / videos worked really well. The Dean Martin pic between songs was very funny.

Great gig, its like being at a comedy show, he is Mr tongue-in-cheek.

(Apart from the bull fighter montage, ouch!).

Good gig. First time seeing him in a long time. Band were very good.
    Speedway was highlight for me.

Videos preceeding gig were also good - Great to see The Pistols and James Brown belting it out.

You are going to have to explain that one to me!
And his comment about Dean Martin and Dame Street and only 2 people knowing him?

I enjoyed the concert last night. A nice mix of the old and the new. I was standing to the left front of the stage and thankfully those around me were really in to the gig. So a decent atmosphere.

Lucky you! Ha I was in the middle near sound desk and most people around me spent more time back and forth to the bar on there phones or talking ****e!

They came alive for how soon is now that was about it.

I wasn't big into world peace as an album taught similar about high school but more I heard it grew on me and it was much better played live.

Actually world peace is none of your business was one the best songs on the night! Every day is like Sunday being a bit of a let down for me anyway.
