A lot of the pre-built shares are v.good in terms of their GUI, can be an option for any that don't want to play with KODI or similar.

The only reason I still have netflix, is that I get my sub back in crypto via the card I use. My own KODI setup is already wife rated so if my India account goes? I'll let it go and use the crypto cash back for something else.

My Nigerian account is still active. I have only used it via VPN and the content is crap so can't kept that going forever.

I opened my Streamio app tonight which my IPTV provider has included FOC and the Netlix shows which were released today were on it. This will do for now at no extra cost.

If Netflix goes then there is always

It's got everything you need that Netflix would have. Works on firestick, laptop, phone.

Noticed my newly setup India account looks to require me to "activate" prompting for my payment details again.

They already charged €6.02 to my AIB on Monday.

Been on Turkish gift cards about six months now since losing my functioning Revolut card, replacement wouldn't take. Added a couple more Turk gift cards there without issue, so far. £6 a month is acceptable.

Looks like NF has had some sort of technical breakthrough on password sharing.

There may be some hot fixes like Nigeria, but long term NF are going to sniff out any breach of the T&C.

I have being doing the sums and if you go legit with NF in Ireland, and pay the password sharing levy I calculate the annual price on the 4K plan is €108 ((€21*12)+(3x€5))/12 =€108 per share

The full cost of a 4K NF setup with no sharing, is €252, so still a really good saving.

I know it's heresy but unfortunately but I think the fun is over.

I can't let the kids use that. Ads for porn pop up everywhere.

I delete my history btw 🤪

I didn't need VPN to buy a voucher but used a VPN to apply it to the account

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,927 ✭✭✭G1032

Doesn't work. My account that was canceled on 24th was paid for with a Curve card

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,675 ✭✭✭✭Cyrus

    whats the password sharing levy,

im ok with under a 10 a month tbh. more than that im not.

Quoting myself here but I'm repeating my experiment with the cheapest euro zone account I could find. There are a number of them at €9.99 for 4K (I picked the cheapest option for €4.99).

Again no phone number was required , it was recommended for account recovery reasons but I ignored it.

Again the option to pay via voucher was only available after signing up. Brand new Revolut virtual card accepted for the initial payment. I cancelled the account immediately, as stated before I don't think Netflix will nuke a cancelled account only active ones. I could be wrong I'll report back if both accounts get nuked or not.

I don't really need to do the experiment as my Turkish account seem fine now with my Turkish debit card added to payment and using vouchers as primary payment. However I'm concerned about sourcing vouchers , I can see a scenario where voucher prices will go crazy. On top of that there are fees involved with topping up my Turkish bank account via Revolut or Remitly. The constant price hikes could make low cost euro and dollar accounts better value in the long term. It seems everyone is getting a slice of the pie to add to costs using Turkish accounts.

The low cost euro or dollar zones Netflix will be very easy to top up using vouchers. Dollar vouchers are easy to get without additional fee on Amazon.com, euro vouchers are easy to get anywhere.

I have a great Emby setup at home but having Netflix and Disney available at low cost is very handy. 16TB hard drives which are expensive fill up quickly with 4K content!! Plus I haven't figured how to stream outside of my house hold yet :-)

I don't want to go IPTV or other grey market options. Too many criminal gangs involved in these. I've no concerns about loosing money via them but more about what organisation I'm funding.... This is a personal choice.

@Confused11811 do you mind sharing what country you signed up through?

    No worries if not.

I paid €7.63 for a 200Tl gift card the other day and the basic plan is 119Tl which works out around €4.60 a month. If I could get the basic plan for €5 a month through a European country and not have to bother with gift cards I'd much prefer that.

With the way turkey prices keep rising it won't be long before it's €5 a month anyway.

I'm trying Serbia. They charge in euro. 4.99 for basic. Had turkey for about 5 years with revolut until sunday. Set up India then but that was cancelled yesterday. Serbia is not actually eurozone so if this fails I may try Bulgaria but if that doesn't work I'm out! 21 is awful value for money.

you haven't lost the voucher (i hope!)

assuming it was this netflix error message - "An error occurred during gift redemption. Please try again later", Turgame support gave me the folllowing explanation

This is netflix install error. Please reset your modem and install from a new IP, the code will be installed. Netflix gives this error when trying to upload too many times from the same IP. Change the IP and the installation will take place easily.

that was in Sept, so i added a few days later turning on and off the vpn each time and it worked fine.

in Dec, I added one code using the vpn, waited a few days and then added the remainder without having to use a vpn - not sure if that's still the case though.

TrueGame have these vouchers for €6 plus a card handling fee of less than 50c. So you can save around €1 on each voucher

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,881 ✭✭✭✭Sleeper12

An easy workaround for this is to add a voucher using a different profile for each one. This let's me load four at a time if needed

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,684 ✭✭✭ablelocks

thanks for that - i thought the vouchers had to be added to the primary account profile....

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,987 ✭✭✭ooter

    Cheers.

I checked Slovenia earlier and it's coming through as €5 a month for the basic package.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,802 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Yeah, meant to say, it worked when I tried a bit later so I'm okay until May at least, at the current price.

    Thanks for the info.

This is a breakdown of cost for one month of premium 4K on the 3 Netflix accounts that except vouchers as payment. Account one (1)Turkey, (2) is the lowest cost dollar accounts and (3) is the lowest cost euro accounts. Based on todays currency costs:

Turkey paid for using FUPS Turkish debit card. With transfer fees from revolut and FUPS included it cost 258TRY for one month of Netflix @ 229.99 TRY. This is about €7.61 :- however FUPS currently do a 19 TRY cashback approx €0.56 so €7.05 is the current cost per month. Without cashback voucher payment would be cheaper see below.

Most people won't have the ability to pay via FUPS so Turkey paid via vouchers from Turgame is a better example. Vouchers bought from Turgame are €6.32 for 200TRY which works or at €7.27 a month for the 4K option. Note it's cheaper to buy single 200TRY vouchers rather than buy in bulk !!!

Cheapest US dollar accounts are $7.99. If voucher are bought on amazon.com using Revolut as payment method avoiding Amazon currency exchange the it cost €13.91 for the minimal $15 dollar voucher. Monthly cost of €7.41 for 4k option.

Cheapest euro 4K options like Bulgaria are €9.99. Vouchers are easy available with no markup.

The above are the cheapest options with voucher available to use as payment. There is very little different between Turkish and US dollar options. Currency exchange, price hikes and an increase of cost by third party reseller could easily make Turkey more expensive.

PS - I have way too much time on my hands :-)

    @Confused11811

What Country did you choose for the cheapest US dollar?

  • Registered Users Posts: 691 ✭✭✭Confused11811

There's a bunch of them available to choose from depending on what your VPN offers. See the bottom chart and sort by desending on the "Current Premium Price (USD)" column on the far right here - https://www.comparitech.com/blog/vpn-privacy/countries-netflix-cost/

The pay by voucher option won't be available until after signing up. If you're account isn't nuked within the first few days/week you should be okay !! Like I said previously I'm experimenting , I immediately cancelled the account after setting it up. I figure they might not nuke cancelled accounts. I could be wrong !!

So is current best working option to sign back into my old turkey account and top it up with a voucher? Will it be geolocked for a month?
