Buy in bulk on Amazon, save a few quid

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 212 ✭✭topcat72

Dealz have started carrying some types for lower price also - New York Americano being one. Lidl and Aldi dont carry Tassimo, or any oqn brand version that fits Tassimo

Aldi sell tassimo pods, have done now for a while.

I buy none online with Amazon subscribe and save,

Aldi sell Nespresso compatible pods. Don't think they sell Tassimo pods though.

Tried them and as SteM & topcat72 said, they are Nespresso compatible pods.
    Same as Lidl.
Tesco have promotion at moment, 16 pods for €5, different type of coffee.

I use amazon usually but will pick them up the odd time in store when they are down to 5euro a packet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,957 ✭✭✭fdevine

Aldi had them in their specials a few weeks back. Still some available in our local Aldi. Not significantly cheaper than anywhere else though IIRC. They were Tassimo brand pods, not compatibles

Pretty sure I saw them in Star Buys in Clarehall SC (behind Tesco & beside Dealz)

All Tassino pods in Dealz are €4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Aldi Tassimo discs at €4.99, 2 coffe, Kenco was one and Cadbury hot chocolate.

The missus just bought 5 packs of these which worked out about €19.40 which is less than €4 for the standard 16 pack (€5 a pack in Tescos). I had something else to order from Amazon for a tenner so with the 2 items together we qualified for free delivery.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,931 ✭✭✭jeffk

Thinking Amazon the way to go,get into a routine of how many you use and bulk buy

100% this is what I do, usually order 5 packs of the Americano for myself and 5 packs of the cappuccino works put much cheaper

Is that free delivery to Ireland? never really understood with delivery to Ireland with Amazon, i have DPD parcel wizard but that would be €3.85 on top.

The coffee discs on their own wouldnt have qualified for free delivery but as I had ordered an additional item it brought the total to over the £25 minimum spend to get free delivery.

So to get free delivery to Ireland you have to spend a min. of £25 which can be made up of several items or if you're into your coffee order 2 x 5 packs.

With a lot of people getting them as presents or buying them for Christmas, would imagine there will be more places selling the pods in the future?
Dunnes sold Tassimo pods at half price in a Black Friday promo at €2.75 but didn't hear about it until it was finished.
Cheapest B&M still Dealtz at €4 but they don't have enough variety, Tesco next
at €5 currently on special offer.

As long as they have any Americano bar the Costa ones deals would be perfect for me, Might work out cheaper than Amazon as well at 4euro a pack

My wife got a pack of the Lo'r discs last week in Dealz but they are a smaller disc (smaller amount of coffee) than those sold elsewhere. She has to use 2 of them to get a full cup of coffee so they aint cheap when you have to double them up which effectively costs €6 in real terms

    Are the XL ones?

I find even with the XL ones I have to put in the cleaner disc to top up water

Just looking at the pack now and it shows 4 different sizes that are available and these are the second smallest...so 2 steps below the XL size

16 x 6.5g in the pack compared to 16 x 8g which were bought in either Tescos or Supervalue. Not a huge difference in the actual amount or weight of coffee but it certainly has a big effect when making a cuppa.

Edit/ these are Carte Noire brand and not Lor as originally stated.

Suppose when you think about it if you have seen the documentary then Poundland/Dealz are known for getting smaller sized items to get to make a profit on a pound etc

So its to be expected, back to waiting on Dunnes/etc to have them on special(hopefully)

The 5 x 16 packs arrived today from Amazon (see this post) and having checked the credit card I see it worked out at €19.24 which is good value. That wont suit everyone though unless you can bring the order up to over £25 to get free delivery.

Hows the flavor on them? So far for bulk, I got L`or, because its a name I know and had from jar and it has XL on it

After I use my last registration 10% discount will be going with Amazon myself, if it means ordering say two lots, the date should be good enough to last

I dont touch the stuff myself but her good self loves the flavour. The discs she got from Amazon are probably L size as they are 8g weight which is one step below the XL size and are dated to December 2018. 2 lots will certainly get you free delivery

Had a look in another dealz

Only thing I can say is they're like a shot size,I prefer almost a mug myself, suppose they're ok if you're into a kick in the morning

Just purchased 9 packs of Tassimo L’OR XL Classique @ €4.49 per pack from Tassimo.ie to make the initial order over €40 for free delivery.
They applied a promo discount of 15% and I used a €10 voucher to make the total order just over €24 with free delivery.

That makes it roughly €2.70 a pack. Happy Days.

Paid €28,9 packs total, but added cappuccinos, 15% + €10 voucher and free delivery.

Signed up just now and went to order 8 packs of Kenco Americano Smooth @ €5.49 which took the order to €43.92 but the 15% discount automatically dropped the price to €37.33 and then a message popped up asking to increase the order by another €2.67 to get free delivery. So had to order another pack and the total for the 9 packs worked out at €32.03 or €3.56 a pack.

    Happy with that

Yeah. Should have highlighted that bit. It will suggest increasing the order but when you check out without adding more, the price remains without delivery charges.

Cant beat the price anyhow and the extra pack will keep "she who must be obeyed" even more happier which in turn gives me an easier life ;)

You should register "A NEW MACHINE" to get two vouchers.

Login and register a NEW TASSIMO VIVY 2, see what happens.

Got a load myself and used ten from registration of machine. Handy to stock up and the more you get the more you save

Getting those expresso discs in Dealz. A great suggestion was to heat your own milk and put them until it. This was from a slimming world viewpoint(skimmed milk homemade 2 sins, tassimo 5 sins), but suppose somewhat cheaper as well

JC in swords have some discs for 5(careful as they have the same expresso as Dealz dor for 3)

I do this on the UK site and get delivery to Parcel Wizard. Way cheaper than the Tassimo.ie site as their Euro mark up can be high, plus a GBP tenner off and free delivery if you spend over 39 GBP.

secret seems to be put the drinks in until it's over 39 quid in the basket and free del is applied. Then apply the voucher then remove the extras to drop the price. It seems to keep the free del even with the voucher applied down to 25 GBP. You'll need a 'UK' billing address but you can pay by Palpay so there's no card checking.

Just got 96 drinks for 30 Euro - about 30c each - Same price you'd pay for a box of 16 at 5 Euro but the choice is much better, (Plus the 3.85 Euro delivery from the North).

Aldi have the Tassimo pods back again on Thursday for €4.99 a pack, including hot chocolate

Tesco have put their prices back up to €5.99-€6.99 for most of the discs .

Just (re)registered on both tassimo.ie and .co.uk sites.
Order on .ie is €27.36 with free delivery including €10 off 1st order and 15% offer off), same order on .co.uk is £29.92 or €34 so way cheaper on .ie while the 15% off offer applies.

Still working and on main page

    https://www.tassimo.ie/

Minimum spend €40 for 15% which only works for the minimum spend as tried reducing the amount but it wouldn't give me the 15% off then.

    Thanks for that.

Just looking back I see I got an email from them on 18 January which stated...
Now is your chance: get 15% off on your favourite Tassimo drinks! Be quick and buy at least €40 worth of Tassimo drinks. Time to shop!
followed by the small print which give a closing date for the offer....
    *Promotion
Promotion valid from 00.00h on 18.01.2018 until 23:59h on 22.01.2018. €40 minimum order (excluding delivery costs). The offer applies to our drinks range only. Standard website terms and conditions apply. This promotion is not combinable with bundle deals nor brewers.
The above is obviously a marketing ploy just to get people to order before a certain date.

Leaving aside the date Im just wondering if the 15% off can be used with the €10 voucher

Same here with voucher and discount

Great to have choice with online discount, dealz and some supermarket discount

Next thing will be Aldi/Lidl knocking out their version, no doubt the barcode system won't allow it unfortunately

Has anyone seen any Tassimo espresso pods anywhere in store? Full price even?

I don't eat dairy so I've always used the espresso pods with my own steamed plant milks. I stocked up a few months ago in Dealz and Dunnes when they were on offer and now that I've run out I can't find them anywhere!

I've tried every supermarket around with no luck. Do they not make espresso pods anymore?

I know dealz did have some of the old discounted line and then tasimo online should have some...
    Over €38
    20% DISCOUNT VOUCHER

I tried/am trying somewhat what you said and find it had to get the taste right, think im putting too much milk in

Thanks so much, I had been looking at tassimo.ie and that discount code makes it a lot more affordable :)

A little bit of milk goes a long way when you froth it. I use one of those cheap battery operated hand frothers after heating a bit of milk in the microwave (I find that better than a proper standalone frother for some reason).

Decent milk helps too. Oatly make a barista version of their oat milk that's made especially for steaming/frothing that's really nice and available in most supermarkets.
