    The max capacity of the INEC is 3000 and often it's a good bit less depending on how they arrange sitting/standing. Killarney basically exists to serve tourists these days, the town is always full of people who are there anyway. There's no comparison with Thomond. It also conveniently has a roof on it, as you don't find many outdoor concerts in Ireland outside of the summer months.

    Ed Sheeran certainly would have been a good opportunity to hold a concert there you'd have thought though. For just one off events, I'm sorry but I can't see why they'd be in Limerick.
