Cork are one of only three counties (Dublin and Kerry) to not have been lower than Division 2.

With the bottom 2 being relegated, I think you can make that 2.

Good so far in Limerick, Cork 6 up at HT.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

As you'd expect, big start to 2nd half from Limerick. 4 points in a row before Cork get one. 3 up

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

    Lehane goal, 2-15 to 1-12

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

    2-16 to 1-17 with 6min left

7 points up at one stage and now its a draw. Maddening stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,089 ✭✭✭zetecescort

3 up again into injury time

2-21 to 1-21. Great win and a big confidence boost

Massive win, well done to the lads

Rallied well to hold them off by 3 in the end.

I feared the worst when Limerick came back to draw but it shows we have grit in this side to hold them off on their own turf. Great win in the end!

Cork are a very good side. There's nothing between Cork and Limerick. That'll do Corks confidence the world of good and Limerick have a nice little check in their flawless start to the league. Limerick will know that it 'll be nip and tuck back here in the Championship.
I like Aidan Walsh Full forward. He brings balance and something to aim at.

Just saw the highlights on RTE, christ we looked good. Tim O’Mahony is a serious player and Hoggie made that opening goal look easy. We won’t be far off in August.

Aidan Walsh gets a lot of unfair criticism so it's good to see him get some praise for a change.

I'm talking in general, he did it for the Kilkenny goal as well, completely lost his man

Just don't see why they're continuing with him at centre back, did the same last year and then didn't play him at all for championship except for bringing him on corner forward once or twice with a few minutes left

Any change in your oppinion after seeing that match? Do you watch matches?

    Great win. Delighted with that.

Still only February but good moral booster

Huge game next week for the footballers. Away to Tipp. We really have to win. Hopefully Fermanagh beat Clare as a Cork win would then have us Tip and Clare on 3 points. With 2 going down it really is a make or break weekend for the footballers.

No need to be so petty, of course I watch matches and that's what I base my opinion on, he did well yesterday and if he plays like that more often then of course I'd have him in there ahead of Ellis.

Would like to see him play in the forwards though, given the lack of aerial threat we have had up there he could be a handy addition

In the Hurling league so far, Cork have scored 3-75 and of that Patrick Horgan has got 1-40!!

Some might say ah he takes the frees but that is phenomenal scoring and he is as vital to us as ever. One of the best strikers of a sliothar in the game.

Hopefully (and soon!) he will win an All-Ireland too.

Sometimes in hurling I find that a reputation precedes someone, especially in Cork. For instance two years ago Damien Cahalane had an amazing season yet every game I went to I heard people non stop whinging about him.

I don't post in this thread often but one of my last posts was lamenting the inclusion of Aidan Walsh. I have to eat my words a bit now. He provides a great focal point and was our best forward against Wexford and got some great scores yesterday. Long may it continue, we need a fella like him in the forwards.

Would you start him ahead of Kingston or Cadogan?

Assuming the wing forwards will be Kearney & Meade, acting more like midfielders like they did last year.

You then have Horgan, Lehane and Harnedy to start with 1 space left

I'd probably start him ahead of Kingston as it stands. Kingston gets a bit lost in games sometimes and could be a good option off the bench.

horses for courses. whether Walsh starts or not he looks like giving us an alternative to some of the smaller lads if we want/need to change things during a game.

Definitely, although you would like to see other new forwards getting more game time, Walsh is the only new forward to start in more than one game except for Coughlan (two games)
