There probably will be talk from Shannonside in particular about a soft all Ireland if we do win it, but whatever as long as we end the 20 year drought and Hoggie get's his all Ireland medal then leave people think what they like.

I'm just wondering who is the better matchup for us in the final, Kilkenny Tipp or is it all much of a muchness? I'd be wary going into a final with the Cats in particular with us as heavy favourites though.

I reckon we could have won the minor all Ireland if we got past Clare. Maybe this is a nonsense theory but Waterford haven't beaten any of the big three in a final in senior, u21 and minor hurling since 1959.

They beat Offaly in the u21 final in 1992, Galway in the minor final in 2013, Galway again in the u20 final in 2016 and Clare in the minor final this year.

I don't mean to sound begrudging to Waterford i was happy to see them win that minor all Ireland, and hopefully they can build on it now going forwards.

To be honest I would rather face who wins the other game tomorrow and go all in the final and beat whatever team it is. In my opinion if you want to be the best you have to beat whatever team plays you. I think Cork will there or there abouts.

Personally myself i'd like it to be Kilkenny for the sake of tradition alone.

Was bang on this evening...I dont think it matters who we meet in 2 weeks time this Cork team is primed to bring Liam home...the atmosphere at the start of the game today was incredible it'll be double that on All Ireland final day...

i actually put 20 quid on dublin today at 6/1 , i was very impressed with both niall o callaghan and what he done with na fianna and dublin up to today , and in fairness disappointed with cork from last years form ,ye must have been given the same dressing room as last july because that was some performance

i will say one thing dublin were out of their depth going man for man , but they had no choice the way they were set up . i think it will be a kilkenny v cork final , but the pressure will be on the kilkenny backs to be awake for the full 70 the next day if it is

to be fair , i looked at munster and taught it was poor this year , alan connolly had scored only 1-7 in 4 games , i said cork are in trouble here , connally hat that scored by the 50th minute today ,

one thing pat ryan cant be accused of is not getting his players primed when it matters

its easy laugh now , but alan Connally scored pretty much the same in the first 25 minutes today as he did in the last 4 games ,i was massively impressed with dublin against limerick, great performance today in fairness, its all right i have kerry backed for the football this year they will bail me out with the help of god🤣

Given the nature of it there'll be loads of neutrals at the final that will impact the atmosphere. Yesterday was phenomenal with the Cork crowd. It'll be a very different mix for the final.

    Well that went well !!

What a performance, really looking forward to rewatching the game.

So many performances of note and yeat there are elements to work on.

Super hattrick of goals - his second was as skillful a goal as you will see.

The running from midfield was fantastic. Dalton has a wonderful smack of a ball - his first free was sublime. Hoggy should be on anything within 50-60 yards - nothing further. O'Donoghue has a great game also. So many positives.

Ridiculous crowd from Cork - can't remembar any county taking over Croker as much as what we did yesterday.

Beat Cork and Kilkenny in 2013. Beat Tipp in Munster in 2016 in knockout. Beat both Tipp and Kilkenny this year in minor.

You can't beat teams that don't qualify, and saying "I think we'd have won if only we hadn't lost" is a pretty inane statement. Childish response that followed then, maybe cop on a bit.

thought Dalton was majestic yesterday. Add in odonghue , Coleman , O’Mahoney, hayes and Connolly

”big three”? That 3 is 50% of the teams who ever win it. Joke of a sport when there’s really only 6 teams have any real chance of winning it any given year. And most years it’s only 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 671 ✭✭✭eastie17

True but in fairness some of the defending from Dublin was so poor you’d see better with young lads having a puck around at the pitch. Can only beat what’s in front of you I suppose

A 'joke of a sport' yet here you are on a Cork board rattled out of your mind that we're almost back, from whatever dial up internet you managed to get up your mountain bog.

Don't watch the Final if hurling makes you that upset kid.

A Cork B squad would have given us a tougher game yesterday. A slight concern for me is that we're going into this final untested since the Munster final. It doesn't say much about Leinster that a team as inept as Dublin was good enough to get out of it.

Looks like we're playing Tipp in the final.

Bring them on. Should be a close game.

Tipp it is we need the win to end the twenty year drought and we don't want them moving to one all Ireland behind us in the role of honour either.

That's who I wanted in the final..Great chance now

Cork v Tipp should be a great game, Both teams know each other well and we should have a brilliant crowd backing the players in the final - One more obstacle to go now…

The scramble for tickets will be insane.

Didn't a Cahill managed Tipp U21 team beat a very very highly rated Ryan managed Cork U21 team a few years ago, 2019 was it?
