    Three options:
    - You havent connected the phone line correctly
    - You have and the jumper job isnt done (line isnt ready yet)
    - You have and OpenEir f'cked up

See that broadband light? Thats your DSL, it needs to flash and go solid or everything else is pointless.

    Okay

Is the phone line connected to the router correctly

What does the setup guide say is the next steps?

As per ED E Post above :)

Forget ALL that until the light is on as above. Trying to run before walking.

Dont tell us the details but did the card from pure include USERNAME@pure.ie and a password?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭TomOnBoard

    No guide came with it.

Did you not get a little credit card sized plastic card in the box? This would have had the initial WiFi password, username (admin) and management password printed on it.

You're connected to the Technicolor router. However, it is not connected to the Internet because something is not working between the Technicolor box and the local cabinet/exchange. That is why the Broadband is showing as Down

Your router doesn't seem to be even getting the DSL connection to come up. Until that comes up, you cannot get onto the Pure Telecom / BT Wholesale network.

If you log onto the Technicolor router using the sign in page ( http://192.168.1.1 in your browser), with Admin as the username and the password from the card (NOT the WiFi password), then go to the Broadband section of the Home Page and check if the DSL Enabled toggle is on.

As I said earlier, it is NOT the wireless pin/password that you need to sign in as Admin on the router. You have already used the WiFi password to log onto the Wireless network that is being broadcast by the Technicolor router and that is working OK.

On the card you got, is there not a separate password for the Admin sign-in?

    It has router admin: http://192.168.1.1

That's the address of the router. Somewhere you would have a username that clearly says Admin as well as a password for that Admin account. If you can't find that, then you will not be able to log onto the router to check the Broadband status. The only other option is to simply power it down and back up and see if that does anything for you.

OK. Slim possibility. Look under the Technicolor box and see if it has an access key printed on a label there. If so, try using that Access Key as the Admin password on the Sign In page.

    That's progress! ;-)

Now click on the Broadband card (2nd from top left) and see if that DSL Enabled toggle is on or not.
