Make sure and buy the right lights, the Bikemate ones are 1st Class and great value. The rain jacket doesn’t look too packable but may be good for commuting.

One issue I had with the lights bought in the last batch was that the clip for the rear one wouldn't quite fit in the cradle for it. Had to attach it to my saddle bag rather than the seatpost or chainstay.

Thanks for sharing - they don't seem to be listing the sizes that each item will be available in? I'm just keen to know what are the top sizes for some of the stuff.

Right, new bike was collected yesterday, knew this stuff was coming in. Have my eye on the merino jersey, the lightweight luminous jacket, the saddle bag, and maybe the lights.

Bearing in mind I have no cycling gear at all, and my new bike is a gravel bike, is there anything else that's particularly good value, or is there anything on my list that I should drop

The heavy duty overshoes are an absolute must in winter.

Even if I'm not using clip less bike shoes? (I'm not)

My previous experience is that it's the hiviz rain jackets that really fly out of the store. I had a previous version of the convertible jacket. I can't remember whether it was claiming to be waterproof, but it was softshell, so shower proof at best tbh.

I use them with my runners, I bought a size bigger and they go over them fine, they're definitely worth having for the very heavy showers but the waterproof socks are much easier for commuting if that's what your doing.

Was looking at the overshoes too if they are good at keeping the shoes dry

The UK stores have a bluetooth helmet with speakers. Wonder why these weren't put on sale in Ireland?

The merino base layers also look like good value

The Merino stuff is mixed, alot of it is a blend with polyester, so they can call it Merino. This can make it a little sweaty unlike pure Merino. It does the job but nowhere near as comfy as pure merino. The stuff that is pure merino seems a slightly lower grade than Merino wool I have gotten elsewhere but, again, does the job.

Bluetooth only, so I think it depends on the watch. The older garmin models are Ant+ sensors only.

I am Interested in the waterproof socks. It was nippy this morning so I wore a thermal style long sleeve vest under my cycling top, did the job , neither hot nor cold and wasn’t sweaty arriving at work.

Can it be connected to Strava.
Looking for something to use on the turbo as i only have a Garmin 200 which doesn't let you connect any speed sensors.

Seems it would depend on your phone

There are two different bike lights, which is the brighter front light?

There's not much info given for the first set.

Second one is 240 lumens but the first has two CREE bulbs but no lumens mentioned.

I run the first one x 2 on my commuter bike during the winter and I've been more than impressed with it even on unlit roads.

The rear of that set was mixed, one gave up and one still going strong. I need a second rear light so I'll likely buy another set just for it.

I’ve had the same experience, great front light, especially in terms of battery life. The rear light gave up the ghost in under a week.

I dug out the rear one recently, which I got last year. Still had a good charge in it despite being in a drawer for many months.

Hoping the new set is as good as.
