Very interesting conversation between Bernard Brogan and Tadhg Kennelly speaking about Cork v Kerry, his Listowel roots and Tadhg’s year in 2009. Great listen. https://youtu.be/MobjseduUaI

Hurlers playing in what is effectively an All Ireland Semi Final against Carlow in ASP at the moment.

    2-12 to 1-10 ahead.

The game has been really back and forth. Carlow hit an early goal but Kerry struck back after the water break and right before half time.

Very little between the sides but it would brilliant to see Kerry come out on top.

Fingers crossed for a strong second half.

After yet again conceding a goal in the early minutes, an excellent recovery by the hurlers, and they lead 2-12 to 1-10 at the break.

Kerry lead by a goal at the 2nd half water break.

Both sides have had good goal chances saved.

    Very tense.

2-18 to 1-18 with a bit over 10mins to go.

Kerry leaving a few scores out there. Tight game.

Edit: Only 1 in it now.

    Carlow 2 points up.

They have all the momentum. We need a score soon and try to settle.

Carlow now ahead 1-23 to 2-19, Kerry need to find a second wind.

Level 2-20 to 1-23, so anyone's game now.

Kerry take the lead in injury-time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,806 ✭✭✭An Ciarraioch

That should be the insurance point.

    Great win for Kerry!
Strange to see the hurlers in Croker and the footballers at home.

    Kerry win by 2!

    2-22 to 1-23

Rows after. Hope the lads don't get a red card and miss the final after it. Starting to settle.

Delighted. Kerry in Croke Park on All Ireland Hurling Final day.

Great result, not sure whether ASP has much of a home advantage for them.

Which must be a first, given the 1891 final was at a different Dublin venue!

Tipp beat Cork. Shows just how bad Kerry against Cork

    Fair play to Tipp

You can't compare things like that, nonsense.

What it shows is the error of taking things for granted, and the effect of a knock out championship.

Not nonsense at all. Every Kerry player will be thinking how on earth they didn't beat Cork.

Of course they'll be thinking that, both before and after today's game though.

Correct but today's result matters little in that thought process. IF Cork won today by 7, Kerry players would have still thought how did they lose to Cork.

Today’s result only reinforces the fact that we were an utter shambles against Cork.

We lost to one division 3 team who were subsequently well beaten by another division 3 team, this is a failure of monumental levels.

If Keane is still there next year then we can forget about getting near an AI

We're not winning an all-Ireland next year regardless I think. Unless we unearth 5/6 top players out of nowhere.

Moran most likely gone and that leaves us light in midfield.

We have two top-class forwards in Clifford and O'Shea. Hopefully Spillane can get a number of appearances next year and nail a corner forward spot but we're still short there.

We also need to find a strong CHB or hope Gavin Crowley can grow into that position. We're open to teams running at us with a while now.

And we still have an issue at GK, Shane Ryan is too slow on kickouts, he doesn't see free men and we struggle when a team pushes up on our kickout.

    Other than that, we're certs

Let me rephrase- if we keep Keane then we are likely to finish 3rd in Munster to 2 fairly poor teams again.

I’m not defending Keane but I feel that this is more unlikely than likely.

We finished third in a one horse race.
    Staggering ineptitude

Where did Limerick finish then? I'd argue they finished 3rd and Kerry 4th. Took Tipp to the death in extra time who beat our conquerors well today.

The players are as much at fault for the cork loss as Keane is. Think you need to get over the loss at this stage and look at it as the outlier that it is.

Ok, we came fourth in a one horse race.

I understand it was an outlier but it was such an embarrassment that it’s inexcusable.

Kerry aside, isn't it amazing to see Tipperary win today. We forget how lucky we are at times when we treat a Munster title like it doesn't matter,
to see the delight and joy on Tip and Cavan players today was great viewing. Covid has made a sh1t of everything but the straight knockout has made compelling viewing. Even seeing a few videos on Twitter of the fans reactions has been brilliant.
Compare that to the face on Cluxton yesterday lifting the Leinster cup, he looked like he'd rather be at home watching home and away.
Its only football lads, we'll be back next year

Anyone know if the hurlers wear the current Kerry jersey that the footballers wear or do they still wear the Galvin one? If they wear the Galvin one, could someone link me to a photo from a recent game. O Neills have told me they cant do the Galvin one for me because Kerry have a new jersey so I'm hoping they will budge if I send a photo of the hurlers wearing it.
