Ah jeepers, I was just watching an old episode of The Chase earlier that they were on, and remembering the Dancing on Ice series. That's sad.

So shocking and sad, achieved a lot at 32.
    Always very funny.

Sad the abuse they got after appearing on Blankety Blank

    RIP.

Very disappointed to see Fern voted off tonight, she didn’t deserve it.

Ah no, really? I'm only watching back now I'd never have picked her for getting voted off, she had great potential...

God, I know he's a national treasure and all, but how long is Steve Redgrave going to last at the expense of far better skaters??

Mind you, he deserves points for that rehearsal outtake - I'm still laughing at that 10 mins later 🤣

Such a shame it couldn't have been Paddy Cole singing the Jungle Book song 😥

Yeah, that outtake was hilarious alright. I admire Steve for taking part but hate that the voting system allows really good contestants to be voted off.

Hopefully they bring back the dance off soon..... otherwise it'll just make a shambles of the whole thing. I wonder why they did away with it in the first place?

No skate off again tonight, odds on that another good skater will go out again.

Oh thank the lord, sense prevailed!

Hats off to Sir Steve, but if he had knocked Sam (with a dislocated shoulder) or Chris (new partner 24 hours ago) out, it would have been a travesty.

Now, let the battle really commence!!

The skate off returns next week, afaik. I'm just about to catch up now. Lots of fast forwarding. I just want to see the performances and the scores. 😁

Yep, skate off next week - that'll concentrate some minds!

I wonder what was behind the thinking of not having it for the first few weeks?

Caught up now. I cut out the presenters and judges. Much better! I liked Steve's story, and going to see the statue. He seems like a really nice guy. Felt sorry for Sam/ Chesney. But fair dues.

I’ve no idea but I didn’t like it. It’s a skating competition but without the skate off it’s just a popularity contest. Some really good skating this year so the next few weeks will be interesting.

    It's ending again, poor ratings

Do you mean that it’s finishing? I’ve been away for the last month so not up to speed.

I’ll be gutted if Michaela doesn’t win this.

No way should Sam have won, he wasn’t anywhere near as good as Michaela but yet again it’s the popular vote as opposed to the best skater vote.

I've just watched the second bolero (Michaela) - and Sam's was way better IMO.

Overall I think Michaela was the stronger skater through the series - but tonight I think Sam absolutely smashed it in both dances, so I've no quibble with him winning!

Aww, that last T & D dance was just gorgeous

I know we knew this anyway but it's confirmed that it's 'resting' next year, with no plans for a new series.
