Got to chapter 9 this weekend. It's much easier than the first one, although I've been sneak killing a lot of stuff I have loads of bullets and supplies. I do waste a lot of it when drinking. Find it's not a game I'm rushing home to play but once I start playing it I can't stop.

It is tremendously creepy. Can't get over the sound, it's primarily silent for much of it.

Scrolling down I'm seeing a lot of Evil Within chitty chatter.

My girlfriend beat the game then handed it down to me (she didn't like it at all). I've had it for about a year now but haven't even looked at it (backlog). Is it any good?

I loved Resident Evil 4 and I keep drawing comparisons to it based on small pieces of footage I've seen.

There's some good bits.... but when it's bad it's a fecking awful game. Unfortunately the bad out weighed the good for me and I gave up.

I did however hear the DLC is excellent.

Definitely not without it flaws but I enjoyed the first game. It does go on maybe two hours longer than it should have.

I think the guy who directed Resi 4 is involved in the first one, it's got a similar kind of feel.

I finally finished a game this year. Very hard to do when all games are "live services" :pac:

Its Dishonered. Really impressed with it, but all those powers make you so OP, when you learn to cheese. Did last mission without any kills, or being spotted very qiuck.
Very cool new IP and now I am wondering if I need to pick up second one. Is second pne penalised you for killing same way like first one? Its a bit annoying when game gives you all cool gadgets and powers, but slaps you for using them.

It does the same thing as the first in terms of the chaos ratings or whatever it's called but it does give the option to play through with two different characters - Corvo and Emily. I did the Emily run-through but keep meaning to get back to the Corvo one. I enjoyed it - I found it a bit more taxing than the first one iirc but enjoyed it all the same.

Death of the Outsider was decent as well
you should try the DLC for the first game as well as that ties in to the later games

Are those Evil Within games horror survival ones?

Anything in the dishonored series is a must play. I'd also recommend Bethesda's Prey, a sort of Dishonored/Bioshock in space.

The first one has more of a survival horror vibe but the second one is more open world so it's probably a bit easier to scramble for resources.

They are both survival horrors (and effin brilliant ones), i.e. focus is on staying alive rather than clearing the map. The second one is indeed more open and lets you revisit locations and rummage for supplies and maybe pick some fights that you avoided earlier.

Did not find the first one great at all. I think it's thought fondly of because outside of it there's very few big budget alternatives. There's some sections that are near unplayable and broken like the boss fight where the 'cinematic, totally not there to stabilise the frame rate' borders make it atrocious. People seem to gloss over the really awful bits!

If it was on the PS1 or 2 it would be a poor b-tier horror game.

I'm interested in the sequel as the DLC of the first game looks genuinely great and the creative lead of the DLC was the lead for the sequel.

They give you the option to remove the letterbox format so if you're playing it now that's not an issue. I'd wager many of the other issues you had were patched up as well.

Telltale's The Walking Dead final season is out today but you can't buy the 1st episode without buying the season pass. First time I've seen an episodic game where you couldn't buy the episodes separately, bit of a ****ty move imo and a downer on the final season. Tempting to wait for a sale even though I'm mad to play it now.

Is there a good site that compares different versions of games? Whether ports or remasters.
Like I hear the Silent Hill HD Collection is bad so I didn't get it though I never played the games.
Then I have Darksiders on PS3 and PC and the Remastered version on PS4 and PC and was wondering which is the best version to play.
Then will be the same with Darksiders 2 with it on PS3, Wii U and PC as well as the remaster on PS4 and PC.

Bizarre - I was wondering the exact same thing today as well. My Googling didn't turn up anything useful though. :(

From a technical standpoint, yeah, they're spot on.

Can't talk for the other games, but if you have the 2 Darksiders on PS4, play them on that. I played them when they released on PS3, again on PC and just last month played them again on PS4, and the PS4 versions run and play perfectly. Plus they're the Warmastered and Deathinitive editions, so they have everything the games have to offer. And if you start soon, you'll be finished in time for Darksiders 3 (November 27th)!

I'm not even sure why I have multiple copies. Think I picked up the PS3 Darksiders and Wii U sequel cheap, then got the PC copies in a humble bundle which were then upgraded when the remasters came out. And got the PS4 versions in a bundle as well.

So in that case I may start the PS4 version the next time the console comes up in my rotation of clearing my backlog

I started playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood last night. Ezio has to be my favourite Assassin's Creed character.

Saw this posted on another forum, and despite it containing nothing but speculation and rumour, I thought I'd share here. :pac:

Marcus Sellars is a fraud lads. Just makes multiple things up and deletes the tweets when they turn out false. Insider me hole.

Hadn't heard of him, but that's good to know. Would have been a weird move.

Pretty disappointing but hopefully it delivers when it arrives. Was Curse of the moon good? As I never gave it a go.
