As it says in the title. Probably available in other Currys, depending on stock. An awful lot of telly for the money.

Reduced to €2300 plus an extra 30% off. Comes with 5 year warranty.

Have 2 new in stock, plus the display model.

Get them before the Done Dealers!

thats an unreal deal, will be ringing stores in the morning.

do you know why there was an extra 30% off by any chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

    Just clearing stock I'd say.

It was €2900 less 20% last week, and this week is reduced to €2300 with an extra clearance of 30%.

I bought last week, and they refunded me the difference today.

Look it may be a great deal, and in some people's minds even a bargain. But the notion of spending over €1600 on a TV is literally ****ing insane. Great for you if you can afford that but jesus christ....

It's an astounding price for a 65 inch 4K OLED. Pretty much as good a tv you can get.

That's a brilliant deal. I have the 65" B6 myself and love it. I bought a small lg 28" lcd for the bedroom recently that has backlight bleed. I'd forgotten such an issue stilll existed!

talking rubbish there you are, thats like saying everyone should drive a micra or dacia because they do the same as a jag, audi, merc etc dwe should all wear pennys clthes to cause theyre cheaper than everywhere else...stupid logic...most people have no bother spending near 100e or more on a night out or few hundred on a weekend away, a tv will last most people 5,6,7 years plus once it doesn't break, and most dont, so works out cheap over its lifespan.

it's a bargain alert, if you've no interest in it, then dont bother commenting

I paid 1200 euro back in 2005 for a high spec Samsung 42", which still looks fantastic, for the money size and that it's OLED this is a steal( igavnt the cash for it though lol )

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means

Is the 5 year warranty their insurance or a LG warranty?

    Manufacturer I would say

    Had one before with Panasonic

Does Currys still do the hard sell on extras, used to be a pain having to deal with it

The warranty is parts and labour with Currys. And because of that, there's no hard selling of other cover. Was never asked if I needed hdmi cables or anything.

Wish I was on commission for this!

Is that listed separately as coverplan on your reciept? Thanks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

Will dig out the receipt and check. It's up the attic with the boxes.

Can't remember what it said, but it was a separate receipt stapled onto the purchase receipt, saying there's a 5 year warranty and something will be posted out to me within 30 days.

I asked them at the time if it covered "accidental" damage, so I could knock it off the table in 4.5 years and get a new one, and he said no! ;)

This poor chap might've spend £2500 on the same set from Richersounds last week!

    OLED65C6V

Hope he checks this thread and they'll pricematch him.

    No it doesn't.

    We don't know

    I've edited the original post.

    Happy now?

Couldn't thank me for the bargain like, but split hairs on something like that? Fair play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,827 ✭✭✭Inviere

    We don't know

What does it matter  I'm not in a position to buy this, but would if I could, it's a hell of a lot of tv for the money & bargain in my books

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,970 ✭✭✭jonerkinsella

It's a curved screen tv... that's the reason for the clearance, I reckon.

Manufacturers are dropping curved screens because they are awful.

Shame though, because it is a cracking deal.

It's got nothing to do with the curve. It's an end of season set. All the 6 models are reduced.

each to their own I guess
I'd have less of a problem paying 2k or so for this than I would paying
half that for a fone or tablet.
Know a lad who's spent this on a set of speakers, if that's what you're into then best of luck with it I say.

Know how much they were? Think 65 too big for my living room

    Are they reduced?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

The B6, C6 and E6 are all reduced. I bought the 55E6V originally last week, and that was less 20%. Returned it for the bigger C6.
They come in 55" and 65".

    So all model numbers are:
    OLED55B6V
    OLED65B6V
    OLED55C6V
    OLED65C6V
    OLED55E6V
    OLED65E6V

I think! Ring and ask using those numbers anyway.

    Fair play!

Don't go looking for issues, or doing screen tests.
Throw in the recommended AVForums settings, adjust the OLED settings to the brightness you like, and away you go.

The latest update gives HLG support, but dims HDR Gaming mode. Turn Dynamic Contrast to high, and it fixes the dullness.

Drop us a pm if you're stuck.

Welcome to the club. All your other tellys will look crap now!

Edit: download some HDR demos for yourself. HDR Chess and Cymatic Jazz are incredible to look at.

so how are they lit from behind ?

Each individual pixel is lit individually with a burt of electricity. That's why the picture is so good. The black bars at top and bottom of the screen is the screen essentially turned off. No dark grey rubbish. Pitch black.

Would a 55B6 display model be worth it for €1200?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

You'd want to be checking the hours on the panel.

You'll still be covered by the 5 year warranty I'd say.
