I wouldn't be surprised if he stays, he'll be a god to the Napoli fans and there's potential in that side to win in Europe too.

Going from bad to worse. Mightn't see another big push until Inter win the league again and they are forced into action. The attitude for years seems to be "even if we're bad at least Inter are too, when Inter push on only then we will". Get buy on spending as little as possible until then.

No good them being in Europe either if they can't get top 4 every year to build on it. One eye now also on Champions League which is only a distraction now, with top 4 in the balance.

Said it many times last year, the pressure from fans and the weight of history carried them, but limited team. They had no option but to win, gave everything every game, that urgency completely gone once they levelled up with Inter on Serie A's

They are pitiful to watch tonight.

Gattuso got the sack last week. Could be well timed for a caretaker job at Milan.

I missed the derby tonight and I don't even care which is a sad place to be in after the optimism of a few months ago.

Can see them giving Spurs too many problems.

Milan are in big trouble for CL qualification at this point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,357 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Don't deserve it playing like that.

Gattuso shouldn't be let near them. Mourinho was the ideal fit and they should try poach him. Match made in heaven

If the San Siro on European night can't prompt you into action you may aswell pack it in. Absolute colosseum, baying for blood it feels like. Fans right on top of you. I remember being there and warnings that if you've vertigo don't go onto the 3rd tier. Think only the Mestalla is steeper

Spurs turned them over circa 2011, they'll do them comfortably in London. But there should be a huge performance in Milan. You'd think anyway

I've been in San Siro a couple of times myself, and it is an amazing place for a big match.

But unfortunately, watching Milan games the last few weeks, I just can't see them troubling Spurs unless there is a serious improvement in their game compared to recent weeks.

Another shockingly unconfident first half from Milan tonight.

At least it is still 0-0

1+0 thanks to Giroud. A sense of relief rather than joy

I said a while back that Spurs would have no problems with this current Milan team.

Watched Spurs today. Think it could be an even enough game now!

No one has any idea of how Spurs will play. They could put in a performance like today or a performance like when they beat City last week. Or even something in between. They are impossible to fathom atm.

Delighted to see Lecce hold on against Roma. That 4th place spot still wide open.

    What an awful awful match

I just dont understand how Sampdoria can be so negative when they need wins to escape relegation.

15 point gap for Napoli now.

It will be some set of parties of Napoli get 5 games to celebrate the title.

How much do you reckon Kvaradona is worth? Maybe Chelsea should have tried to spend all that money on him instead of Mudryk.

Big night for Milan. In dreadful form but playing another team in the same boat. Think playing in the San Siro first leg suits them better, they'd lose in London and be chasing a 3 goal lead probably in Milan, over compensating on the attack to catch up and getting caught on the break.

This way, with the away goal gone, the pressure is off slightly and with the stadium behind them, might be able to get a win and a lead to hold onto in London.

Either way, it's finally time for them to prove their worth in Europe. Of Europe's traditional big 5, they've had to watch Liverpool, Real and Bayern win over the last 15 years, and even see Ajax competitive again. Their fans deserve better than watching the 15 year slump they've had to endure, bar a slight reprive circa 2011.

Not good enough for a club like Milan, they're out of excuses at this stage. They need a huge performance tonight

Impressed with Brahim Diaz. Seen him last year a few times and he was hot and cold as a playmaker, great to see him step up to the mark. When he's on song, Milan are generally firing, he links it. Needs consistency. Struggle when he's not on his game. He's the fulcrum really.

Hopefully he gets a permanent move to Milan, he wants it, but Madrid refuse to sign off he's such a talent. He's bought into the Milan philosophy though, he's Milan through and through now I think. They've started to build a team around him, disaster if he left. Milan's shining light. After Reus, the most gifted playmaker active

Agree about Diaz, nice player to watch.

Problem for him as you say is Madrid releasing him. I always get the feeling he would never make it at the Bernabeu, they don't have a great record of drafting guys like Diaz into the team and making a future for him. Tend to just buy in ready made players in those spots.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,345 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

He is far more miss than hit though.

If De Ketelaere had hit the ground running Diaz wouldn't have been in the plans as a starter this season.

Last night was possibly the best he ever played. He was popping up all over the pitch attacking the ball.

They're not actually being negative, they're just that poor - believe me, I've seen enough of them this season!! Very little going forward, severely lacking in confidence as well, which doesn't help. They've had a run of about four games (excluding Monday's match, and including the Coppa) where late decisions have gone against them (some legitimately, others less so), which has taken about 5 points off them. That has to add to general sense of demoralisation, going along with the financial issues.

Speaking of Samp RTE had a documentary about Brady's time in Italy on Monday.

Some nice old Serie A footage in it.

That was proper Monday night football. Great show at around 9.30 on Network 2, Serie A was pure addictive to watch - savage atmospheres.

Loved Brady hanging out of the railings in front of the fans.

I really never thought he would be that animated.

0-1 in the Bunga-bunga derby. Snap shot from Messias was too strong for the keeper.

Handa in goal for Inter tonight is an odd one, it's not like Onana needs a rest and Handa was not great when he was playing at the start of the season.
