A 100 megaton nuclear strike in Castlebar caused €1000 worth of damage.

In Leitrim it would cause €15 worth of improvements.

https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/ great fun to be had with this site.

Fascinating. Here in rural Clare, the Hiroshima bomb (15 kt) dropped down my chimney would kill 5 people and 18 cows. On the other hand, and on the plus side, a 100 megaton bomb would also wipe out Limerick! ;)

He was a human with a brain. In my opinion this guy had real intelligence, commonsense, and was one of the smartest man to ever live.

The joke at the start was funny but otherwise he lacked any real grasp of world events. Looked like he rolled out of bed also.

The yellow ribbon comment was as disgusting as it get's.

He is spot on with everything he says, but if your brain is wired differently you not get it and never will. Unfortunately this is why we end up killing ourself's off eventually,

Climate change talk he gave is excellent and well thought out too. Climate change is bull****.

Don't be silly, this is just a scare tactic to get people spending "while they still can" to get an injection into a faltering world economy.

It's not that, it's people paying too much attention to 2 megalomaniacs.

If NK believes they could win they would do it.

There's no scenario where they can win.

Even if they got off a few icbms which aren't intercepted and managed to get them on target (this is all giving massive benefit of doubt to them) that will be the sting of a dying wasp. They would kill a lot of people and then be obliterated. The US would flatten them.

Thankfully Kim and his mates know this. He will elect for a long and healthy life. And see how far he can push his nuclear development before someone clips his wings.
Why does everyone think he sees it the same way? He probably would survive anyway in his bunker. I honestly find it frustrating that so many people are so not worried about this . So many over confident people saying oh he won't do that. You can't guarantee that.

While I have a lot of time for Carlin on some matters, he was beyond ill informed about environmental stuff. The stuff he says about extinctions is moronic. Yes 90% of all species who've ever lived went extinct, but humans are causing and have caused one of the largest extinction events in the history of this planet and provably so. No hair shirt hippie nonsense required. It's a scientific fact and we've been doing it since we came out of the egg.

You can actually trace the path and timeline of modern humans leaving Africa by the local extinctions they cause. This is very obvious in places like Australia and the Americas. We show up, local extinction event follows. Particularly, but not exclusively with large animals. We see this even into historic times and not just with big bad European colonials.

EG New Zealand. One of the last places to be settled by humans. The Maori got there by around the 13th century. No natives living in harmony BS that the European mind likes to conjure up. They drove a goodly chunk of the local fauna to extinction in a couple of centuries. Same with Madagascar. Native Americans killed off two elephant species, the horse, the camel(the last two actually came from the Americas originally), various bears, canines and a host of others.

So yeah, while I would agree with much of his spiel(simplistic though it could be), he's talking utter bollocks there.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
