Another way I count down to Christmas is looking at the Lidl/Aldi books.
In a few weeks we'll be getting the garden ready for Autumn.
More back to school stuff. Then the sweets/biscuits appear.
Then we move onto Halloween stuff before we'll see Decorations coming in and gifts/etc.

Wow, that's the earliest I've seen. Is it usually end of August?
Must get a copy - although last year there was no Christmas decorations page. Hopefully this year there is.

P.S. Whenever I see autumn stock appearing in Penneys, I think of Christmas.
And their Christmas stock always appears quite early

No Christmas decorations page this year either.
With the last few years anyway it's come out in the second last week in July because Argos tend to follow the more traditional pattern regarding seasons.

Two other things that I can think of are,
In about October when the Christmas ads aren't meant to be on TV.
You can see the Glade scented candle ads and ads from shops such as DFS say to order your Sofa for Christmas. These ads often have a Christmas tree in the background.

Sitting on the Luas near Belgard this morning. Look to my right and there's a Cadbury's lorry sitting in traffic, with a Santa on the side of it. Yep, looked like a selection box delivery truck!

  • Was in Brown Thomas here in Limerick yesterday. They have cleared the section where they normally put the Christmas stuff. Hopefully it won't be long now! They must be getting suspicious of me coming in each day, going to the exact same spot and then leaving. :D

:edit: Sorry about the picture quality and pls ignore the incorrect timestamp.

  • The Christmas stuff is nearly out in Brown Thomas Limerick. There's a cordon around the stuff still but I managed to take a quick vid.

Probably will be opened officially tomorrow. Again pls ignore the timestamp which is showing 5 Aug rather than 15 August
