My first time going to Healy Park, what are the facilities like, ie what does the stand hold and is the rest terracing etc?

Is simulation an actual offence in the GAA world

Yup. Rule 5.4 - To attempt to achieve an advantage by feigning a foul or injury.

You could argue that it also brings the game into disrepute.

What are the chances of the game been called off? With no sign of the snow/ice reducing over the weekend it going to be a hard trek up

Looks fine from this webcam, modern tech for ya!

Stand holds approx 5000 so if you want a seat best get in early.
There is a club house at the back of the stand if you want a pint.
Open terrace on 3 sides of the ground.
If you want to make a quick getaway avoid the car park at Healy Park!

Arrive early. Grab a bar meal in the Silver Birch hotel approx 10 min walk away and leave the car there. They take € and £ in the hotel. Enjoy.

I assume the ticket van will take the € price if I buy on the day?

I went up with the ticket. Buy them in your local supervalu tonight and save yourself a fiver.

+1 for the Silver Birch. Ring ahead a try to prebook a table if you plan on chowing down there. Last 2 visits to Omagh, they just laughed at us, when we rocked up about an hour before throw in, lookin' to be fed.

I think its a joke cramming the league in worse time of year weather wise. Is it 7 games in 9 weeks with league final the week after last round of games? Not many counties are going to play club championship in April during club month when the following round of championship games won't be played for possibly 3/4 months later.

Reserving April for club championship last year certainly was a bit of a joke if. In Ulster no club champion games in either football or hurling. In Connacht, I football Mayo, 2 football Roscommon, and two hurling Galway.
As far as I recall the rest of the country was no better.

Unless there is a drastic change this year time to scrape it as the clubs would not appear to be interested in using it.

With the super 8s and dual counties it is impossible to play club championships during the summer now.

Great stuff. Nice to see James mixing it up.

Best of luck to the new lads!

Likely to be a baptism of fire.

Happy to see the new lads get a run out. Its a hot baptism for some of them but time to dance now if they want to make a mark for the summer.

It`s not getting any easier, but if last year is anything to go by counties had little or no interest in using April for their club championship and still managed it. Even those that qualified for the super 8s played off their championships before the closing dates for their provincial club championship games.

I know there are some who worry about him under a high ball, but I don`t think that will be a great problem against Tyrone, They don`t use the high ball into the square generally. Mainly because their forwards are too small. Accurate kick outs would be more important against them, plus kicking points from distance and not carrying the ball into contact. Every one of them, regardless of the number on his back, is expert at stripping opposition and they can attack from that at ferocious pace.

I am not worried about this particular game. I am worried he has been selected in all 4 games

Sure isn't that what the 'core' members of the squad wanted - a manager to pick the team they want rather than the team that can deliver silverware. It was obvious the day that Horan got his second stint that players like Clarke and Parsons would find it very difficult to wear the Green and Red regardless of form.

Yeah sure that team he has picked is full of the usual suspects , what a daft statement.

I heard last week that Clarke is carrying some sort of injury. Maybe they are just being cautious?

Nothing obviously, sticking your fingers into a lads eye is just part of the game now. He could only possibly have damaged his eye, but as you said, thats ok then.

So you cant answer me then? Unfortunately atm there is no rule that covers this

What a load of rubbish. Clarke was Horan's number 1 in his last stint until he picked up a bad injury. He was actually captain in the 2012 all Ireland final!

This sh!te again. Parsons will do well to walk without a limp again if you ask me.

I would not read too much into it at this early stage. I cannot see him replacing Clarke for the latter stages of the league or championship, but it looks as if he is nailed on second keeper. Bit surprised all the same that Horan hasn`t given a run to someone else. If only for a cover option.

Also surprised, but my take on it is that the other keepers must not have looked any better in training.
