He plays hard and that gets him into hassle. He has passion, heart, drive and plays on the edge like Keegan. He is so strong as well. The only negative I have with him he keeps the head down and lacks a little bit of vision.

Yeah completely headless. he's still very young though so there's plenty of time for him to mature

Some score taker too. It'll be a major problem to handle him in May. cafferkey was miles off the pace last year.

Put the king(keegan) on him, that will keep him at bay but it depends where he plays I suppose. The only issue is that he will be doing well to be back/ be at match pace.

Yeah it's a tricky one as there's Shane Walsh too.

Walsh is not at the same level as comer. He will not put his head in if he knows he will get hit hard. I have spoken to a few guys from Galway and they have said similar things from the club scene. One thing he has is pace and pretty accurate if he gets the space. He is easier solved imo with dropping an extra guy back. Who know we may get someone over the league. Early days yet

Ah no I definitely don't rate him as much as comer but he'll cut loose if he has space

Yet we struggled greatly to break down a resolute Galway defence.

In fairness they played keep-ball brilliantly, as well as any team I've ever seen, after they got a couple of points up.

Indeed they did but we'd ample opportunities to create overlaps for runners with two extra players but consistently went laterally or backwards.

Just processing some video from tonight. Hope to get it uploaded soon. Terrible conditions, pitch was pretty cut up at the end.

How strong of a team did Galway have out?

Reasonably strong for this time of year. They certainly had more guys that will be involved in championship than mayo

Am I reading this correct? 15man mayo lose to 12 man Galway?
    Surely a typing error?

Didn't work too well in the first half in Castlebar two years ago. Got moved off him fairly swiftly

    YouTube? Fair play.

Scandalous putting Lee on a man marking mission imo. Look at the damage he caused Galway in 2013 and 2014 attacking from deep. He was stuck to Walsh last year and it was a fairly even battle, but Galway surely seen them both being quiet as a fair trade off

Was late last night when I got it uploaded. Just processed the raw video, unfortunately due to family circumstances, I don't have much time for proper editing.

Poor conditions last night . We Didn’t get much foothold in attack . Nallys 2 long range points were the mayo standouts . The goal was good but really we had no command from midfield even though gibbons was reasonably good . Galway’s reduction to 13 we not capitalized by having 2 sweepers at times . Galway’s ability to close out the game one way or another showed the nievity we had on the pitch. Even with 12 for the dieing moments, they seemed to have overlaps .

It was what it i was and nothing to change our plans for the summer . Ref was dog poor and contributed to the intensity in the latter parts of the second half only by poor and inaccurate decisions .

I see Nally kicked a few scores

With no disrespect intended to the likes of David Drake and Boland, but surely Nally has to be the main bench option for 2018.

He has a worldie left peg and scores from distance at ease. When you lose big matches time and again by a point you've got to be considering these small margins

But we've already known for some time now that Shane Nally is a quality footballer. He is only back from the team holiday on Tuesday and has played two games within 48 hours.

The referee was very poor last night. As homewardbound11 confirmed Galway got a firm foothold in midfield in the second half.

Reape's performance in the first half was a real positive.Even after missing a relatively easy chance he didn't shirk the responsibility on the freetaking and took a very good score from play.

Tad mystified as to why the freetaking responsibility was alternated for an obvious one in his range in the second half?

Peter Naughton has impressed thus far in the FBD,Matthew Ruane will hopefully come on some more.Very hard for anybody to make an impression in such dire conditions.

Anyone know where the venue will be for the fbd match versus Sligo will be on Sunday week?

There was a lot of talk about Nally last year that he was playing really well but just didn't seem to feature. It would be smashing if we got Loftus to up it and someone like Reape to push in as well. I really hope he gives these guys a right crack over the league as we really need to find some new top talent.

Was a huge fan of o'donoghue on that under 21 team 2016. Thought he was every bit as good as Sean Andy Kelly who everyone has been raving about since last year. Big few weeks for Cafferkey you'd think. Thought o'donoghue was let go very prematurely last year

Anybody head up to Hyde Park???

    Mayo 0-11 Roscommon 0-14

Apparently a Roscommon player was sent off early in the second half and Robbie Hennelly saved a spot kick?

I was I there. Missed first 15 mins but a good 1st half of football in atrocious conditions. (Fair play to Ros. They've made a great job of the pitch).

2nd half was probably the worst 35 mins of football I've ever sat through. So many stoppages ruined it. Hard to criticise performance but very sluggish. Overall Ros managed the game better when on top. For Mayo I thought 3 inside forwards played well with Ballina lad the best of them.
