Yes, absolutely they could be going down that road. Its the unknown nature of it that makes it so interesting. FC researchers also know that in this modern world of ours, religion is such a personal thing and there are so many of them out there, that a simple religious cult is not realistic these days so they could be exploiting this whole huge craze with mindfulness and alternative therapies these days and using it to brainwash people into thinking that some idealistic "leader" of this movement (either Miriam or, I suspect, a higher authority) is their new God and push members towards crime or worse.

    The fact that
Charlie Manson pays Katy a visit next week and encourages her to go to her "retreat" in Donegal
    is very odd behaviour.

We will have to wait and see!

    That sounds interesting!
A retreat would offer opportunities for the group to bond but perhaps also to be manipulated or indoctrinated, as the group members are out of their normal environment and are all together in one place. Retreats can be very positive things in real life but not if they are being run by dodgy types with ulterior motives

I really can't see FC producers /writers taking this Charles Manson cult storyline too far, as in, mass suscide or anything like that, I think it will be more an financial gain Charlie is after, for the good of Phoenix way, of course.. ;)

If the cults retreat center is in Donegal, my guess is the cult leader is Daniel O'Donnell and their aim is to make everyone feel grand. :D

When did Miriam and Eoghan break up as were they sort of a couple :confused:

Does Melanie's son have a ronnie?

Sean looks same age as Juliet but does he ever interact with his niece or Niamh too anymore

Who is now the mayor, it should be Cathal as he spends so much time there

I do not know a single school where such a skirt would be permitted.

Tallaght, Clondalkin, Ballyer, Blanch, they mostly wear them like that.
Btw, Mondo and stupiet looked like a couple, so weird

Why do the primary school and secondary school kids wear the same school uniform ?

Are youse looking forward to the new fair city set ? I guess everything will look different but the characters will be carrying on as if nothing has changed

That would never happen in real life. Even if the schools were side by side, the uniforms would change the moment the students entered first year (as they are two different schools).

We're still on the old set anyway. I'm not sure when the big move to the new one is due to happen.

I went to primary school and had a blue shirt, navy pants, navy round neck(or v-neck jumper(Odd person might wear a tie:rolleyes:) and secondary was the same except v neck and tie were compulsory. They added a crest to the secondary school one in the 2000's because people were showing up in expensive branded jumpers and nobody looked the same.

Charlie Manson is also manager of the Arcade, and has presumably been doing that for a while now so she must have been planning this "cult" for a while now, her manager job is just a façade to come across as a respectable businesswoman. This is the strangest story for a long time in FC, I saw Miriam as a love interest when she started and that fizzled out when Eoghan found Katy (naturally, he was busy). Then to find out that nobody knows anything about Miriam and she is running these holistic counselling workshops and trying to get every single person on board, even being in Damiens home when he was fighting with Caoimhe.

Then stepping up her effort to keep people in Phoneix Way, and putting down others who don't agree with it (Pete and id say Bob), lingering close ups of her cold smile, what the hell is going on?!

I feel Phoenix Way is more a scam than a dangerous cult. I feel too that Cathal is somehow involved in it.

Would you trust Charles Manson with a child?

Then that would make her a con artist as opposed to a cult leader

Is Nora's hairband surgically attached to her head? I hate it!!!

and its just an old rubber band as well ... common! :D

has she give up the smokes? - when she first joined the soap they seemed to focus on her smoking quite a bit and I havent seen her smoking in any scenes for months

If you had to guess who smokes in real life but not in the soap/on set which ones would you choose?

I reckon, Cathal does, charlie used to years ago in it as did bella - Hughie for cert I reckon, I dont think Bob, but I bet his mrs does. I wouldnt think Jane does, she looks like a woman who treats her body as a temple and she's a vegetarion (I dunno what thats go to do with it) - Kerrie Anne I'd take a guess as no but I would say Decco does - Farrah I reckon smokes rollups :) as does debbie I reckon, I reckon delores could (or has in the past - giveaway lines above the lip and dodgy teeth) I would say Mondo doesnt but his father most probably does. Katie could be a roll-up kinda girl

Fair City actress had a very minor role in The Limehouse Golem. I found it amusing as she was last seen in FC going on a short holiday to the Galapagos Islands!

You could be on to something there- having the retreat in the scenic but in places very isolated Donegal would give the leaders of this Phoenix Way group more power in that whatever ideas they are posing would be harder to resist when members are stranded and in a way depending on the leaders.

I saw a pic of the holistic therapy office in a newspaper today and it really looks like a well run and oiled group with many hands on deck. I still don't think its a pyramid scheme or con job because the potential worth of the members just isn't worth it. There is more going on under the surface, and Phoenix in the name suggests therapy- the Phoenix bird rose from the ashes so its representative of people rising to their feet after hard times.
