So many "retractions", "apologies" and "honest mistakes". It's cultural.

Fourthly, it seems that many people have trouble distinguishing between reporting of fact and publishing of opinion. If people tried to bear this distinction in mind when consuming media, I suspect they'd be a little less swayed by trash/hate media outlets.

This is actually a pet peev of mine right now. Someone writes opinion piece and you have people all over comments section or twitter ranting about it being fake news. It's not hard to distinguish between an opinion piece and an article reporting on something that happened. Also it is no harm to read stuff you don't agree with even if it makes you angry. You might see things from a different perspective, challenge your own opinions.

The problem I have with the Russia narrative is that it's a distraction from the much more pressing issue, which is that the party which is supposed to represent liberal values is putting forward candidates who share Republican positions on too many issues. Russia may or may not have hacked Clinton's email server but a far bigger issue is the simple fact that, to take one policy example, as a supporter of neo-con values such as national security trumping human rights, there shouldn't be a place for her in a supposedly liberal party to begin with. That's the issue. The Democrats spend the entire 2000s positioning themselves as the antithesis of George Bush and his policy platform, so it's entirely reasonable now that the people who grew up during Bush's tenure are demanding that they stick to that rather than going with the third way bullsh!t of "well, the status quo has changed so let's go with it". Most young people want Bush's policies reversed, not tolerated and worked with. Obama promised to do this and didn't deliver - Clinton never promised to do this and is in fact openly in favour of a lot of those policies. That's the core problem the Democratic Party is facing, and until it decides whether to openly admit to being further right than it advertised itself as during the Bush years, it will continue to haemorrhage young voters who want a dramatic and radical bulldozing of the Bush frameworks, from mass surveillance to lax white collar crime regimes.

You say that like it's a new thing. There's never been anything major between the Republicans and Democrats politically - it's like arguing about Lidl vanilla ice-cream and Aldi vanilla ice-cream.

CNN and other news sites everyday attacked Bernie when he was out there trying to gather support for he's presidency. CNN influenced the older American voter to vote for the established candidate like Hilary. Don't trust politicians and don't trust the corporate media, you be better off. The leaked DNC emails was just more proof of the corrupt system. Blaming Russia for hacking the elections just show's how stupid these supposedly well-educated people are. They should be tested for emotional intelligence, and everyday life intelligence.

The reason for the trump tantrum with morning Joe is coming out now. Apparently the national enquirer had been digging into the hosts for a story and even been following their kids. They were told ift hey went easy on trump aand md apologised for mean things they said about him embarrassing stories would be dropped. They said no and hence trumps outburst. This is the most powerful man in the world.

    let that sink in.

All news networks whether they be in print, online or TV are terrible sources for news. It's not so much because they have some hidden agenda, it's because they're capitalists that will say whatever they can get away with to make money.

There's been a gradual slide towards this type of commercialized news for decades now, I stopped consuming most news sources at least 5 or 6 years ago and won't give them what they crave, money and attention.

I don't see it as a conspiracy but a state we've ended up in, our ability to retell stories without turning it into an emotive click bait story is gone. There isn't one news source that is capable of telling us the news without sexing it up for more clicks.

It's a problem with society, not any one group or political leaning.

Try actually paying for news. Get a Financial Times subscription and you won't be exposed to clickbait.

Something funny about one of the most powerful men in the world having such a thin skin.

He'll surely have a complete meltdown on Twitter before long.

It was clearly a joke. You might not like the guy but credit where it's due and all that.

It is not that the guy doesn't care. He cares too much, about his own narcasistic ego.

And CNN reported that too. If you google it you can their tweets about the riots. And even that story that's linked contains information about the riots.

Selecting one tweet out of many is stupid.

    C'mon....it's blatant bull**** by CNN.

What's your problem with it? They reported on the riots the previous nights. They even mentioned the previous riots in that article. Or did you even read it?

They're reporting on an event as it happens and even put it in context.

Now, now, you can't expect anyone to just do an advanced search limited to CNN's tweets and see the top result, when they can just swallow the party line from their cult on Reddit.

Oh all those peaceful protesters and demonstrators rioting and burning and breaking things.:pac::pac:

Look at the words they're using lads. A protester walks down a road, chanting with a banner, not chucking bricks through shop windows and starting fires.

Problem....CNN desperately trying to show protesters in a good light.

CNN are about as trustworthy as Breitbart at this stage.

And they're so desperate that they only did multiple previous tweets about the riots and even mentioned the riots in a story about the one peaceful event that occurred over the weekend.

The bastards. How dare they mention everything that happened. Absolute cnuts.

Well they do have to report actual news to try gain some credibility back.

No need to get so worked up,youll give yourself a heart attack.
