I'm really surprised it was never released in the cinema here. Did pretty well at the box office elsewhere. Was it politics?

    Surprisingly decent film!
Didn’t think much of Chan’s accent - floated between Derry, Limerick and Wexford at times. Hope he gets a better voice coach for any sequel.

Watched it over the weekend. Really enjoyed it, especially Pierce Brosnan's take on a certain political figure in Northern Ireland. Nice to see some shots of Belfast on film as well as Irish actors on screen. I'd highly recommend it.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

The UDI name made no sense though. They were obviously supposed to be Republican but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't think why Republicans would use that. Sounds more loyalist than anything.

Poor oul Michael McElhatton is making a habit of signing up for these bit roles. :pac: Basically just stood there silently for the entire film. But still, better than his King Arthur and JL roles.

I enjoyed it anyway. Chan and Brosnan were very good and not typically a fan of either.

Saw it, though can't say how on Boards.ie without risking a ban. Thought it was good. It never goes too beyond the realms of possibility.

dont worry, you can say 'netflix' here ;)

I also saw it on 'Netflix' last night. I thought it was excellent, especially the irish supporting cast. Cliff Martinez did a really good job with the music too. It was definitely cinema worthy.

Don't ask me how I know, but there were certain sensitive lines in the chinese version that were omitted from the english version. So maybe the quiet release was due to the shenanigans up north.

Watched it, Brosnans northern accent is gas, I love the term Authentic IRA, probably the only term they could use after Real IRA, Continuity IRA, I Can't Believe It's Not The IRA etc etc. Chans Rambo style gunshot fix with a knife brought me back to the 80's :D

Thought it was a decent film none the less, good to see Michael McElhatton back on screen, would love another series of Paths To Freedom...
