Ah that’s terrible to hear. He came across as very likeable anytime I watched him play

Very very sad such a young man with loads of talent. RIP

Sad news alright. He was a very good player a couple of years ago. It was strange that he gave up his tour card but perhaps he was suffering from an illness.

    RIP

Watched a bit of that online darts live league this morning, first 3 games Williams missed d18 for a 9 darter, then Thornton missed d12 for 9 darter then Martin Adams hit a 9 darter. Unbelievable. He must be nearly 70 years old now ?

He's 65. Some darts from him.

Phil Taylor was supposed to be playing in this week but he pulled out. Williams took his place.

That's his second one in that league this year, had one a few months ago too

    Some operator

Would love to see an 'fly on the wall' style documentary on one of the big dart players

Say with the amount of competitions it can be some slog of a season

I remember one they did a good few years ago with a player called Lionel sams..

He was ranked probably in the top 20 or so.

Was that Lionel the Lion, the lad with the pushy missus? Didn’t think he was anywhere near the top 20 (off to Google)

Nathan Rafferty will take on Ted Evetts in world youth final later. Winner gets a spot at the worlds

Both guaranteed Grand Slam spots next year too.

Disappointing for Keane Barry that he didn't make the final. Tough competition though when you have the likes of Callan Rydz still eligible to play.

Big John Henderson could probably lose his tour card after the WC. I didn't realise he was so far down the rankings. Max Hopp and Scot Waites and Micky Mansel could too

It's very tight where he is. I think he's hoping Schindler, Barney, Miekle and Brooks all have first round losses and everyone else only make it past first round

Sorry I can't be of assistance - but keep looking, because it is great!

Hell of a story to be honest when you sit back and think about it.....

Listening to Eddie Hearn on yesterday's episode of The Darts Show Podcast, Fallon Sherrock is a certainty for the Premier League. He wanted her in it last year even!. Disgusting!

Ridiculous at this stage they hype will be unbearable.

wildcards have to get bums on seats , she does that , man babies everywhere losing their sh!t , its a great story , if she gets beat she gets beat and everyone moves on

    good luck to her

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 348 ✭✭Timmy O Toole

Barney had a tour card and was always in the top 16 when picked plus he's a 5 time champion of the world, but yeah, no difference 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,232 ✭✭✭marklazarcovic

He still didn't deserve his spot manys a year, not does she.

The Premier League is an non-ranking exhibition tour, it's sole reason for existing is to make money for the PDC so they can fund the floor tournaments.

She DEFINITELY should be in the premier League. She's currently the biggest story in darts. The PDC would be insane not to include her.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 348 ✭✭Timmy O Toole

Agreed she brings more attention to the sport than anyone else, you can see that by the amount of interactions when she's mentioned on social media. I suppose as a purist I don't like it, taking an opportunity for big money from someone who played well all year. I don't watch the Premier league much anyway, maybe first 2 weeks then finals night. I just like a moan 😅

You earn your right simple as.

Eddie hearn making a circus out of darts and mentioning the MGM in vegas.

There is one on youtube not sure if it's the one you are after but take a look.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,373 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

For ranking events I'd agree with you. However this is a giant exhibition tour and so the most popular players should be in it which she is one.

I don't watch any of the Premier League anyway, I've no interest in the non-ranking stuff, I just think commercially speaking she should be in it.

ye but come on shes only been knocking around 12 mths, was this time last year she beat a young super ted and mensur just bottles it when he plays her,for me she has to do a lot more to earn her right to be in premier league its a kick in the teeth to other pro men players.

and theres nice money in the premier league even though yes its a glorified exhibition tour.
