Like any self respecting man I have 4. (3 is also acceptable)

    Work, Formal, Casual, Running.

I would only enter a shoe shop when I have determined that one of my 4 sets of shoes is no longer wearable and have disposed of said pair.

    Shoe shop?

I get all my footwear needs online, cheaper and no interaction with dickhead retail staff.

Shoe sizes are random though, I'm anything from a 9 to a 12.

I was worried that I would seem like a shopaholic posting in this thread but glad to see so many replies from people with loads of shoes like me!

    10 pairs of wedges
    15 pairs of sandals
    3 pairs of flip flops
10 pairs of trainers (converse and vans)
20 pairs of ankle boots (these are my biggest love, I just keep buying more and more, mainly Clarks, Hush Puppies, Kickers, H by Hudson and Fly London)
10 pairs of flat shoes (again, mainly Clarks and Hush Puppies)
    3 pairs of bike boots
    2 pairs of wellies
1 pair of really old Ugg boots (they're 10 years old)
    3 pairs of slippers

I read somewhere (it might have been on here!) that you should never scrimp on your shoes or your bed because you're either in one or the other :pac:

    6 and a half

    1 pair of formal shoes
    1 steel toe cap
    2 converse
    1 pumps
    1 pair of loafers

    And a single shoe.

More than I realized, and more than I'll admit to. I'm packing up for a move and didn't realize how many pairs I'd accumulated in the last few years. I have more at my parents house too.

I have three pairs of running shoes, and two pars of hiking boots, a few pairs of sheepskin boots and two pairs of leather boots, and then I've formal shoes for work and going out, and casual ones that I wear most days. I never wear out shoes, I must have a light tread. From day to day I'll wear Cons or sandals, and there are a few pairs of each. I still have shoes from when I was a teenager, and they look perfect still.

I don't even think of myself as a shoe person, it just piles up when you don't wear them out.

Tigers or Gazelles, I'm a 10 in either.

Actually, I just buy 10s and I've never really had anything too small or large.

+1, also one of my feet is nearly a half size smaller than the other so I really spend time trying on different sizes if buying a shoe I haven't before to find the right compromise.

1 pair of weird looking brown yokes.
1 pair of black dress shoes, 14 years old now so they are back in fashion.
1 pair of boots, in the shed and are now a house for spiders.
Loads of pairs of runners. I have 4 or 5 pairs opened in my browser at the moment that I'm trying to whittle down to 2. I've runners for walking, running, casual and formal wear. I f*cking love runners.

About 7 or 8. 2 pairs for regular/casual wear, others for special occasions. That's not counting sandals and slippers.

I have a load of old runners that I'll probably never wear again but aren't in bad enough condition to throw out so I just have them under my bed. I keep thinking I'll probably get some more use out of them but they're just gathering dust. And I keep buying waterproof shoes that turn out to not be remotely waterproof and aren't comfortable. I use a couple of the lighter runners as slippers.

I have three pairs of 'waterproof' shoes that are wearable. I've only had two of them a few months and the soles are already starting to wear out. I have a couple of okay runners.

    Not many.

Five pairs of flat ankle boots
Three pairs of heeled ankle boots
Four pairs of flats in different styles
    Two pairs of converse
    One pair of runners
One pair of walking type boots
One pair of knee high boots that are flat

There's also a collection of heels from back in the day at the bottom of a press which I will likely never wear again. I can't walk in the damn things and only have memories of pain when I think of them.

I hate shoe shops. "Sorry we don't have those in size nine. We only have size 6 or size 13. Do you want to try them on?".

    1 Runners
    1 Hiking Boots
    3 Dress Shoes
    1 Casual Shoes
    2 Cons
    1 Work Boots

    9 in total

First they came for the socialists...

Quality over quantity for me. Currently have two pairs of high-top converse, worn in rotation - really love those, such an iconic design.

For more formal wear, one pair of Crockett and Jones brogues, one pair of George Cleverley black boots, and one pair of C&J brown boots in shell cordovan. The latter was a recent acquisition, and one for which I sold a pair of Loake 1880 boots and one calf skin C&J boots to finance.

50+ here also. Unless they are worn to death (hardly ever apart from trainers) I keep them for the visiting sister and my daughter is nearly fitting them soon so she has already earmarked a few pairs for herself.
Having said that I see shoes as an investment and usually get years from a pair. If I worked out cost per wear most are good value.

I don't know. I have more than 15 but how much more I couldn't be bothered checking. Every so often I discover a pair I forgot about. I don't buy that many but what I buy usually lasts. I tend not to buy plastic and more often than not I buy online. The exception are runners. I buy whatever they advise me to use on hard surface/stones. But I have absolutely no interest in runners as fashion accessory. Similarly I have no desire to buy anything that could be used when gardening.

    15+.......jesus who has all those?

1 pair of smart shoes and two pairs of sandals. that's it for me.

I get a distinct feeling the female members of this forum fit into the category of 15+ pairs.

    I mean, aren't shoes one of life's essentials for a lady? :D

Crockett and Jones make wonderful shoes. Picked up a pair of Cork shell cordovan in their store on Rue De Namur in Brussels the last time I was there.

Threw out a lot recently. These are what I currently have:

1 pair of brown Dune boots which I wear most days.
1 pair of navy converse which I wear maybe 2 days a week.
    1 pair of Nike runners.
    1 pair of flip flops.
1 pair of warm "winter" boots. They are Uggs but don't look like the usual Uggs.
1 pair of Birkenstocks that I wear during the summer/on holidays.
1 pair of Topshop boots that have a small heel on them.
1 pair "high" shoes that I wear when dressing up. They have a 2.75 inch heels...that's as high as I go :o
1 pair of white sandals with a small block heel.

I am a size 5 1/2 and have very narrow feet with a high arch. I find it very hard to find shoes that fit. Most of them have insoles in them. With boots I usually have to wear 2-3 pairs of socks even with insoles. Why doesn't anywhere do half sizes.. :(

just started a new job so i needed to buy "fancier" shoes

8 pairs various styles of birkenstock - some re soled and 2-3 will be thrown out after this summer.
3 pairs knock off birkenstocks - will be throwing out soon not worth money
6 pairs flats - 2 of these expensive but worth it
3 pairs crocs different colours - 1 used for painting and 1 for the gym
1 good pair black highish heels
3 pairs dressy sandels / shoes, rarely worn
    3 pairs runners
1 pair GAA runners for muddy fields
1 pair stud boots for muddy fields
    1 pair of wellingtons
    2=3 pairs flip flops - 1 fancy
1 pair of fold up flats - a godsend at weddings etc.
    1 pair slippers
    1 pair winter flat boots
2 pairs "nurse" shoes i.e. brogue type, rubber heeled shoes. ugly but essential
    2 wedges i recently bought

    this is scary

2 pairs of Penneys converse style runners
    2 pairs of summer sandals
3 pairs of knee high boots (one flat, one wedged, one block heeled)
    2 pairs flat ankle boots
3 pairs of heels (kitten/ mid heel - can't wear higher than that)
    1 pair of wedges
2 pairs of ballerina style flat pumps.

Think that's it. 15 in total.

I own one pair of shoes. Once they lose structural integrity (soon), I will buy another pair.
