No let up with this fella and still not 17 until next month...

Ran 1.49.40 in a Junior 800m race at the Diamond League meet in Zurich on Thursday night..

Then yesterday, at the Norway National Champs, runs 13.35 for 5,000m and breaks the age group world record by 10 seconds which had been held by a Japanese lad since 2002...

Was just thinking that myself but you'd think the ould lad would know a bit better. The japs have a total different culture, ekiden comes first, after that its their work career.

I don't think so, The Japanese are renowned for this because of the way they train, they are aerobic animals in high school because that is the culture and quickly move onto the marathon. Ingebritsen's father has said that he is training a little harder than his brothers at the same age but not going overkill. One brother who owns a 3:31 1500m Pb and the other with a World Championship bronze. I think this scenario is completely different to the burnt before 20 people you see who perform well in their teens. The family has a history of truly world class performers whose coach/father guided them to that level already. He has a proven track record.

That's off the back of his exploits at Norwegian champs last week where he broke junior 3k European record 7.56 as well as a 3.42 1500 and 2nd in the 800 in 1.52

Little 3.52 in Eugene for the Mile.

    At 17 years of age.

Bit of a flash in the pan, this lad I'd say.
