TA that despite correcting myself on multiple occasions, every time I glance at this thread title (https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057103071) on the main Boards menu page, I think to myself “why are so many people interested in Roscommon and what does that acronym mean in relation to Roscommon?”...every frigging time

OH told me he wants to pay for a weekend away for us as my Christmas present. Great! I can't wait and he's so thoughtful and he's the best person in the world. My TA is that now I have to get him more gifts cause otherwise I'll look mean, but I'm stoney broke :(

Don't spend what you don't have, I'm sure he'll appreciate whatever you give him.

The person who took down the tree last year just fired the lights into the box and thus, there's three sets of lights tangled into one.
Luckily I'm home alone or I'd punch him in the face

If my OH spent money on gifts which she didn't really have I would be very disappointed that she felt she had to.

As I get older, I find myself getting more and more disillusioned with the commercial element of gift giving. As in, it only counts if it costs money.

It's part of the reason why when I see an online dating profile with marketing as a profession, my interest immediately drops. Of course, that's a topic for a different thread. :pac:

Yeah, he'd be horrified if he read my last post. I'm gonna make him something :) and just pick up some small bits like sweets he likes and stuff. I'm so bad at thinking of gifts for everyone in my life and it makes me sad cause I want them to know how much I appreciate them. I'll tell them in person when I'm drunk :pac:

Small bits and pieces that show you pay attention to what he likes are the best imo. I got a shoebox full of Lidl chocolates and moisturising creams and such from my children one year, it was the nicest present, even more so as I knew Mr M had suggested the idea and facilitated it.

Same here. I'm a bit high up at the foot of a mountain, and although I'm in Waterford I just know the hill down and the whole crossing over by the village to the main road is going to be hairy. 'Tis already frozen solid out there in the yard. :(

Also, I'm very TA at my very sensitive skin/nose.
I normally wear contacts but today I thought I'd give my eyes a rest and wear glasses.
After a day of wearing them the feeling of plastic against that spot on top of the nose, and the two bits on the side is nearly unbearable.

    .

2 colleagues of mine who got it done only about 5 years ago both need glasses again. I would have loved it but I'm fairly short sighted and it costs more to correct, so if it's all back to square one after 5 years forget about it.

I didn't know that at all. I thought it would be fixed for life. That sucks :(

Luckily we got the call to say school is closed so I don't have to make the journey any more. Good luck in the morning, I hope you'll be safe.

TA: I have a thumping headache that will not go away!

Got my hair cut from just below my waist into a bob on Friday.
My boyfriend, who I live with, has yet to notice or comment on it.

An ex of mine laughed at me when I got my hair cut up like that. I would take a boy not noticing any day!

That time of year again - how can some car insurance quotes be 50-100% more than others?
I have decades of clean driving, some are so mad (4 figure sums) I'm getting anxious that my present insurer has made a mistake (better pay up quick!)

    Don't.......

    Hi Corners
    Here's your quote.

Me , can we have a look at that quote? Seems a bit steep.

Insurance girl , eh well , we haven't got our rates sorted out .

Me , you just have me a quote.

Insurance girl , could you ring back next week.

    I rang back .

Lots of " er, um can I check that quote out " from insurance company.

"You certainly can " says me.

Good news , Corners get a good quote.

Hangs up , goes off in car , car breaks down. Mechanic says it's fatal , car is dead.

    TA , feckin' December.

I recall hearing about a couple having a big row and splitting up because she she didn't 'consult him' before getting her hair cut. sheesh!

that' was for the best. if she had to "consult" him when she gets her hair cut then she needed to be out of that relationship.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.
