I mentioned I ordered two Pi Zero cases from Arrow. A gigantic box shows up today with .... just one case rattling around inside.

This deal thread is cursed :pac:

This deal thread is cursed :pac:

I have to agree that it may be cursed.. got a notification from DHL this evening indicating "Available on payment by recipient" for the two cases i bought from arrow last week.. Seems like I might have got stung again for duty on a package of 9.54 Eur.. What a pain in the hole to just have to deal with Fedex last week and DHL this week.. Anyway will give them a ring tomorrow..

Anyway bright side is, RPi 0W is now in UK.

What was the cost of your shipping?
DHL are the worst to deal with.
I have had items marked with free delivery using DHL before, and they refused to believe it was free and even told me that the $24 items i bought were worth €50 each  even when the separate invoices both had the $24 clearly marked and converted to the Euro price of less than €22 at the time.
They are a company i will avoid at all costs.
I would contact arrow on their chat and ask them to confirm that the shipping was free (if it was) and the items are worth less than €10, so you will have something to email DHL with straight away should you need to.

don't know yet, the text only indicated that there is some sort of payment. The customer service is close, so will ring tomorrow morning.

Hopefully just a straight email of the invoice Arrow send out is sufficient to show how much my purchase is + shipping (Which on the invoice is 0 eur)

If the shipping was free, which it seems, then you should be okay.
Even if there was a mistake in marking the shipping at its correct price, Arrow seem okay, so it should get sorted quickly enough.
If the shipping was supposed to be €15 or more, i am guessing DHL will try and charge you :( (in that instance it will have been Arrows fault).
Arrow chat is very fast, i had all of my invoices etc.. sent out in under a minute when i was on to them.

So the Pi Zero came early this morning via Fedex. Declared as $12.09 value. Incoterms DDP. No charges by the man at the door.

Well still no email from fedex about their invoice, anyone knows if 10 day passes if its dropped if no response from them - know its small amount but dont want to be caught few years down the line, since agree arrow has little to do with it seems somehow they think that if its outside EU automatically they cling on some tax even thou its same company that takes package in and delivers it here

If you don't hear a reply maybe shoot them another one. Copy mine above if you want because it was straight and to the point, and I got a reply cancelling the invoice in under 24hrs. I sent mine to the address on the invoice (ieinvoicequery)

It's important to note the value is not under the negligible value limit, if you claim that then you're starting on the wrong foot. The vat liability is under the de minimis limit of €6, this is what means there should be no charges.

Attach a scan of your Fedex invoice and also the Arrow invoice. Put the Fedex invoice # in the subject. The easier you make it for them to examine the case, the more likely it'll be sorted quickly.

thx for that also was leaving house just hour ago when seen fedex van parked outside house, waited a minute and guy hands me the box, since was looking at tracker last night wasn't suppose to be here till Friday so all is good :] but packaging is smth out of horror movie, the box they use to pack it could fit maybe 500 PI's of them and you got this tiny board in a massive clump of a BOX,that would fit in into regular envelope.

Yeah it's madness. I don't know how they're in business. You can go on there right now and order a Pi Zero case for €3 and they'll ship it free via DHL in a large box. Comes in like 2 days. The shipping alone must cost €10-20!

did as you suggested Deleted User attached both invoices after just getting original of arrow now on chat, since previously only sent em, screenshot of the screen with paypal one included this line as well:The vat liability is under the de minimis limit of €6, this is what means there should be no charges.
so hopefully explaining that theres no charge applied on invoice will make it clear to them.

And yeah packaging department dunno how they turn any profit paded envelope and you could still fit 5 PI 0s in it,not to mention other small bits people get.Since share volume size must be extra charge on top.

Called DHL this morning, I was told that the driver may have marked it incorrectly when he couldn't deliver it as I wasn't home at the time. They delivered it this afternoon so no problem there. That is at least one out of the way.

Still no news from Fedex for the original RPi 3. Will shoot them a mail again on the 10th day.

I got mine too - There's a commercial invoice for $12.09 in it which should satisfy FedEx, but we'll see.

I just received two emails from FedEx:

Thank you for your query regarding the Duty and Tax charges levied on the invoice #XXXXX

Having investigated the matter in more detail, this invoice has been issued correctly. It is a customs duty and tax invoice for a shipment that has been imported into UK.

According to UK customs laws, all imports from outside the European Union are charged duties and taxes. The amount levied is based on the goods value, the shipping costs and the type of item being imported.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Yours Faithfully,

Then five minutes later, this came through

    Dear customer,

    Concerning following documents: Inv XXXXX

Your query with number XXXXX has been closed.

Please do not reply to this email address.

If you still have some questions on this query, please use one of the options below and refer to your assigned reference number XXXXX or use the reference number as title in case you contact us per e-mail.

    Best regards,

    FedEx Express

Emailed ieinvoicequery@fedex.com on the 12th of June. First I got a generic email telling me the options available to make a payment to them. Heard nothing else until those emails this morning.

Can you show the email you sent them?
