Lads the brother has an old. 22 puma he never uses anymore as it's not very accurate but keeps it licensed. He was on to me about getting licensed on my hmr. Question is can he get his puma destroyed and put in a sub and get licensed on my hmr. Thanks

Yes, it's a straight sub. Rimfire, unrestricted, rifle, etc. The very definition of a sub.

However i would suggest instead of destroying the puma to donate to a local club. Especially if it caters to juniors. That or sell it/give it to someone rather than destroy it. Some young la starting out would be delighted with it. just do your due diligence and make sure it is a newbie and it'll be some gift.

Thanks cass so if he gives it to someone and just leaves it into RFD until they get their license will the RFD give him a letter so he can apply for hmr straight away. I know I few lads starting out would be happy with it to get them going for a while

Well if it's worth nothing to him to sell then it'd be a nice gesture to someone starting out.

When filling out the FCA1 form the section on source of firearm 3.3 does he need to put down my details or leave it blank as im not selling gun and it will be joint use. Thanks

You can fill it in as form a private source, but the important part is section 4.1. Joint license application. Your license number goes in here.

Thanks cass. He went into the local station on two different occasions to find out this and neither guard could tell him
