Definitely. I think it's better than BB.

    Give me Jimmy

It's very good but I think Breaking Bad is the gold standard, simply brilliant.

Enjoyed the first season a lot but I'm finding it a bit hard to get through the second for some reason The first episode and a half feel more awkward than comedic so far.

I thought season 2 was great, there's a particularly hilarious episode late on.

Enjoyed Apt pupil when I watched it about 10 years ago , a very dark and disturbing thriller about a teenager who discovers his next door neighbour was a Nazi officer in a concentration camp during the war. On the subject of dark thrillers from the 90’s - I rewatched ‘Seven’ over the weekend and it is still absolutely fantastic. Am sure the majority on here have seen it but for younger boardsies who may have missed it first time it is an absolute must see.

I somehow got unsubscribed from this thread without noticing until just now when I came looking to recommend Unforgotten.

I see it's been recommended by a few people already. I was reluctant to watch it because I've had a bit of a Nicola Walker overdose of late, she seems to be in everything I turn on lately and I can't say I'm her biggest fan. That said she's actually really good in this and herself and the other police are really just a framing device to tell the other stories.

S1 was good but S2 was much better. Have missed S3 on TV but hopefully TV3 will have it soon as they seem to be "ITV +a couple of months" these days.

Oh and I watched The Meddler the other night. Susan Sarandon plays a widow who moves out to LA to be closer to her daughter, played by Rose Byrne, but the daughter is less than pleased to see her as she is, you guessed it, a meddler.

I thought this was going to be some sort of silly slapstick comedy thing like that horrible one with Seth Rogan and Streisand in it but I was pleasantly surprised. Byrne disappears for a huge chunk in the middle and we're left with Sarandon wandering around LA making friends and trying to make a life for herself while still kind of mourning her husband. I'd describe it as a gentle comedy but it is genuinely funny in places and although Sarandon's character is kind of annoying to begin with she does quickly grow on you and I found her charming by the end. Plus she's doing this hybrid Brooklyn New Jersey accent and she basically reminded me of Linda from Bob's Burgers the whole time.

Couple of great shows for anyone with small kids:

The Let Down - Australian comedy about a new mother, very enjoyable and relatable

The Beginning of Life - documentary series about early childhood development, seeing how people raise kids in the poorest parts of the world puts a lot of stuff into perspective

Posted this elsewhere but considering most people saw it on Netflix (as opposed to it's original airing on Channel 4), it's good news in that 'End Of The F***king World' has got a second season.

Assumed that show was a once off, I thought the graphic novel ended the same as season 1?

^ Unfortunately, as is the common trait in television at the minute, viewers and rating success appears to trump reaching the end of source material.

The Handmaid's Tale, Game Of Thrones and half a dozen others are testament to that.

At a very minimum, they'll probably consult with original authors where feasible and rope them in with a producer credit.

It has but they're still following the general gist of what's going to be in the remaining books at least, it's a bit different to Handmaid's Tale/End of the ****ing World where they have to pull a new story/continuation out of their arse.

The show changed a few things, most notably massively compressing the span of time over which the story unfolds, relocating it from the US to the UK and changing the nature of a couple of plot strands. The show also made some of the dialogue funnier than much of it was in the comic.

Having said that, both film and comic end in pretty much the same general place, and I'm not at all convinced there's any point to a second season. Heck, the way I heard it, the show was originally developed as a film and then retooled.

Watched this last night about a group of young men and women who are coerced into confessing for a crime they did not commit in Iceland in the 70's.

It's only 80 mins long but it flew by, a really fascinating watch with some very good production values.
Watched this as well at the weekend. Fascinating watch and an absolute travesty what happened to those people. Iceland just doesn't seem like the type of place to mistreat people so badly. Definitely worth a watch.

I watched this last night and thought it was really good, but one thing that had me thinking was when
Sævar got out of prison he was the only one who tried to prove his innocence surely if the others were innocent they could of grouped together and all of them try to clear their names, the other guy whos daughter gave the journalist his diary from prison was the only other mention of him being innocent.

Reading up about it afterwards, none of the others have ever wanted to talk publicly about the case since their release. I'd imagine it has left massive mental scars. I don't think them not being willing to discuss the case is indicative of them being guilty.
