Will there ever be a time where children's school homework be abolished?

So what you're saying is that because you weren't good at maths, you couldn't help your children with their math homework, so they were put at a disadvantage immediately because you didn't do well at school yourself?

Andy, I'm sure you're a good man but just think about that for a minute or two. Your children probably needed more homework than others because they couldn't get extra tuition at home in those subjects.

It's not right to put that on teachers.

Did you get someone else to help them out?

are you saying they got more homework in a subject like maths because they wasnt very good with maths or didnt get any help at home with their maths homework?

If a child is suffering on a particular subject then I particularly dont think its useful or productive to load even more homework or extra tuition or extra pressure if they are just not good in that subject - it smacks in the face of "drum it into them until they get it!" - which in itself at the very least is a form of bullying!

Usually a teacher gives less homework to a struggling child
    It's called differentiation

Some children are lazy and just don't like homework, and that attitude is often learned off the parents attitude towards homework
