Been enjoying Tom standing in for Lauren...but why do i feel like i'm cheating on her....:o

Listened to bbc 6 on monday past for the 1st time in ages. WOW!! Where has this been?? The music was brilliant (shazam was working overtime!!).
Really liked Tom's voice and his presenting style.
The day got better when Johnny Marr was interviewed by Stewart Marconie.

Big shake up on radio 6 in January, Shaun keaveney is moving from the breakfast slot to the afternoon and Laura laverne is replacing him moving from the late morning slot.

I liked Shaun in the mornings, good taste and nice and cynical

    Hi

Was getting BBC radio via TuneIn but it's no longer available. Any ideas on how I might find an alternative provider?

The BBC radio player is available in Ireland. So you can get it that way.

Have you noticed that the iPlayer version of Desert Island Discs is the podcast version, with shorter music pieces?

Yes... I think the introduction said "for rights reasons".

That’s bizarre though, considering that you can listen back to any music programme on R1, 2, 3, etc.

I noticed this when listening to BBC R4 on Virgin Media through my TV

After all his years on BBC radio (even though he's remains on Radio 5 with Mark Kermode), it's so strange seeing and hearing Simon Mayo on a Commercial station (Scala Radio):

You titled the thread "BBC Radio" - not U.K. Radio!

I have a Roberts internet radio with 40 presets so I have ten BBCs stored among many others ....

    BBC RADIO 1
    BBC RADIO 2
    BBC RADIO 3
    BBC RADIO 4 FM
    BBC RADIO 4 LW
    BBC RADIO 5 LIVE
    BBC RADIO 6
    BBC RADIO ULSTER
    BBC RADIO LONDON
    BBC RADIO SURREY

The other thirty presets are populated with a mix of stations from Ireland, Britain and all over the world. My FM presets are obviously all Irish, and my DAB presets are all RTE stations.

5 mostly. Occasionally 1 but they keep going on about Love Island so that might be the end of that.

Anytime I listen to 2 it seems like awfully dry shyte.

judging by form, looks like samthefootball has departed this thread, and it could have been so promising. If a thread about BBC radio is started, there should be loads to talk about .....

I love radio 4 for the chat, the world outlook and the news.
I love radio 3 for the classical music, plus late junction.
radio 5 live obviously for the sport and the politics (Brexit)!
radio 6 music for all the funky stuff they play.
and on it goes, the BBC really do cover everything.

Radio 4 for the drama slot and book of the week \ at bedtime.
Radio 4 Extra for similar, especially comedy.

There is a thread about BBC radio, not much activity recently. Sam only came here because he/she was banned from Digitalspy. I don't think they have much interest in radio.
