9/11 or I always remember the two girls in the UK Holly and Jessica their surnames escaped me, both were murdered, always remember being very moved and unsettled by the story.

It was more dramatic back in the 1980s. "We interrupt our scheduled broadcasting for a special report from the news room"

    Challenger Disaster

    Zeebrugge Disaster

1991 - Waiting for the expiry of the George HW Bush's ultimatum to Saddam.... and the live bombardment on TV

Vaguely the moon landings...family around tv

Much More Clearly.....Bloody Sunday...watching on tv . They used to show a lot of stuff on the tv then that they would not do now.

My Grandfather said ; The Guns will be out in a big way now...!

They did show stuff about the troubles that would not be shown today .Thankfully we are in better times .

    Thankfully.

I'm not sure though that, that sanitising of the news is a wholly good thing. I think it "does people good" (poorly phrased) to see the sort of sh1t that happens.

I don't think the killing of the two soldiers that ran into the funeral (done to death twice over on the Martin McGuinness thread) would be shown today.
