Cheers George should of took you're advice a month ago but instead cleaned the throttle body...there's one near me from a crashed a4 b8, he wants 80euro for the part, is it fine to replace with a second hand part or should I buy one new? Cheers
Buy a new one and be finished with it. If it was my car that's what I'd do.

If it's a metal throttle body and looks ok visually, with the butterfly flap opening easily I'd say yes, if it's plastic buy a new one.

The one on the car is metal and the flap opened easily, i cleaned it, but its back acting up again, at least i think its that. According to the original error codes, it is that part. Going to buy a new one next week, not gonna drive much, because glowplug light keeps flashing now and afraid of doing damage to dpf

I wonder would it be anything other than a throttle body? Maybe a sensor? Going to get another diagnostic check tomoro cause the flashing glowplug light stays on, just to be 100% before ordering throttle. Was wondering do you need to do body adaption after putting in new one?

Op just read post 30 by george dalton the man is an expert on vw's audi and highly regarded in this forum it is an electrical fault with the flap and you need a glow plug as well. The man took the time to reply and try and help you
His free advice on here will save you money if you listen.

You had a diagnostic scan already done which highlighted the problem you cleaned it it didnt fix your problem as it is an electrical fault dont bother wasting money on a second scan order the part and get it fitted.

It happened my car it took one scan to read the fault and i had the part ordered and fitted yours should be already fixed by now if you had taken the advice given rant over .

Just wondering, do you have to reset or go to a vag dealer to do adaption, to replace throttle body? or is it just a matter of changing the part?

When I had it done on my car the garage said it had to be programmed but I'm not 100% sure George can help you better than I can

Cheers I'll ask George, I'd be able to put in new one myself, cleaned the old one, but wudnt have a clue about resetting or programming

Just a final question, would it be normal for the car to be driving perfect this past 4 weeks or so, after i got the diagnostic codes and cleaned the throttle body? Should have new throttle by mid week, so finger crossed i wont be posting for a while!

Hi, anybody know if the new throttle body needs to be programmed? Part just arrived, just wondering now if it needs to be put on a computer or is the part just plug in and play

No just fit it and clear the fault codes.

Just wondering, I have 1,500 miles done since new throttle body was put on, I could feel about 4 Judders since then, latest one today and radiator stayed on for 5 minutes when I stopped. Checked diagnostics today also, but no faults are coming up. Just wondering if them few judders are normal? Cheers

You will sometimes feel a slight judder when a regen is active, that would also explain the radiator fan staying on.

Cheers George, yea its a very light judder on throttle, happened 3-4 times since I put the new part in, but no codes coming up, radiator was on for 5 minutes, this happened before also, maybe I should of kept driving but was at destination so probably disrupted the regen. Do you know how often these cars do a regen?
