Hi all i purchased a 2008 a4 b8 143, it has only 70,000 miles, previous older was elderly and didnt drive it much, car runs fine but at times it judders for a minute or 2 then back to normal. The glowplug light and the emission control lights have come on, so i got it hooked up to a computer. Was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the following codes that were produced:

P201300 - Throttle actuator circuit high

P211200 - Throttle actuator control system closed

p145F00 - Mass Air Flow in regeneration, operation too high

    P067400 - Cyl 4 glowplug circuit

Wondering if this now is a huge job i have to get done, that will cost a lot, or is it something not too expensive? Dont think ill be going to audi to get these things fixed!!

    Any advice appreciated

    Regards

Think I put this thread in wrong location, don't know how to delete
Was meant to be in motors section

It needs a glow plug and a throttle flap. And if you keep driving it without fixing the faults then it will need a forced regen of the DPF as well.

I would replace the set as oppose to the one blown one.

Cheers george, I'd say it was kept driven by previous owner, an older man, I only bought the car a month ago, going fine but Judders for a minute or 2 after driving for an hour or so.

That judder will be an attempted regen but if the throttle flap is faulty it won't be able to complete the regen properly.

Cheers for the information, appreciated. Im putting a bottle of fuel cleaner into it tomorrow, dont know if that will help a bit

George, is the throttle flap part of the throttle body or the whole piece? Audi are charging nearly 500e for this part just after ringing them, cheers

It's the whole throttle body. You don't need to buy it from Audi, any motor factor should be able to get you the OEM part which is made by VDO.

Cheers for advice, I was going to get throttle body cleaned this weekend, not sure if that will help it though? Otherwise I'll buy one from a car parts store

Cleaning it is pointless. The problem with them is electrical failure.

You should be able to get it installed an all for alot less than that had my one done in the a4 3years ago in my local Renault garage.
Think rough cost was about 280ish dont have the bill at hand but that included the diagnostic scan as well.

Car is driving perfect now no juddering, it had a stuck brake caliper. Got a new one put in, and have driven 400 miles since, and the steering wheel shaking has completely gone.

What about all the error codes that you were getting when you scanned it?

    Just reset them with VAG-COM...

Yea i cleared the codes, none have came on since, and got a new passenger front caliper, also cleaned the throttle body, it was absolutely covered in black stuff, car has no juddering now, that was caused by the caliper sticking, seems to be driving perfect since.

ah ok, so thats normal enough? cheers

Normal enough just keep an eye of it if it is happening fairly regular you might have a problem but by that stage a fault will be logged and eml will probably be on.

What type of mileage are you doing is it mainly town or motorway driving?

Car has very low miles only 70,000, i bought it a month or so ago, im not doing huge mileage, main road for 15 mins and into town and back home again kinda miles, thats twice it happened now, turned car off but cooling fan stayed on for a few mins, i ended up both times starting the car up again to see if itd go off, in case it ran the battery

Been 4 weeks or so with no fault lights, but the missions control light came on again today not long after putting diesel in, and flashing glowplug then came on, it went off again, the emissions light went off again after turning off and on the car a few times.

Is the fuel cap on properly?

The fact it was just after you put diesel in was purely coincidental i would imagine.

Yea I drove for 10 mins after putting diesel in, then went in somewhere, and when I went to restart car the emission control light was on and after driving a few mins the glowplug light was flashing. Both are off now but feel an on and off judder when driving

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 481 ✭✭buzzing147

Flashing glow plug light today and car very jumpy, then got home turned car off and radiator stayed on for about 5 minutes. Anyone any ideas :(

Got a new glowplug and cleaned throttle body a few weeks ago, car going fine until yesterday, now flashing glowplug and juddering. Doesn't seem to be regenerating
