Looks like Pikmin 3 is underperforming. Such a pity, it's an amazing game and this puts the franchise's future prospects in doubt.

Yeah, we've been trying to justify the purchase, but it's difficult to do so at full price, when we have the Wii U version... Even at that, it's tempting...

I have bought so many games recently, I can't justify even more, especially for a franchise that I have never really gotten into .

I've sold the following and bought switch versions:
botw, captain toad, mario kart dx, tropical freeze.

All worth it except tropical freeze which I plan to replay one day.
    Then it'll be worth it.

But I'm drawing the line at Pikmin 3 as I've never played it on my Wii U and I believe Wiimote is the best way to play ... and ...
Super Mario 3D world unless Bowser's fury is a substantial piece of content.

I'm kinda sorry I sold the Wii U games as the kids have taken over the Switch.
Sometimes I see them go for cheap online and other times they are back up to full price.

Another thing I'm doing is putting the switch cartridges in a cartridge holder and keeping the cases and inlays separate.
... So that they don't get destroyed.

I need to actually go back to playing these things :)

It looks like they've reduced them from the gamestop price to the smyths/argos price

That's confusing seeing as Smyths don't stock a lot of the games discounted here but ok thanks for the critique I suppose.

It wasn't a critique, but Gamestop prices are ridiculous. Even at those "reduced" prices, you'll likely pick most of them up on Amazon or base.com for less.

Many here getting the Game&Watch? I see my local Smyths listing 15+ in stock.
I'm getting the PS5 next week yet now I'm thinking of picking this up at the same time to sit on the shelf with other such items

I was going to but G+W was really a bit before my time, I never had one, and have no ties to it. It looks nice, but do I really, really need another way to not play Super Mario Bros. again on?

So, sent off my Joy Cons and the Switch today to Nintendo. Joy Cons had the drift issue so I am wondering how much they are likely to charge me for them? I would expect it for free as it is a known issue and not something I did but online others seemed to have had to cough up!:mad::mad:

Also had two issues on the main body of the Switch, the grill plastic above the heat sink is cracked and a piece of plastic further along from the grill just fell out.

So, all in all what sort of money do ye think I might have to shell out?

    Thanks,
    M

PS: Mine is a launch day unit, will be 4 years old this coming March 7th!

honestly possibly nothing depending on your willingness to argue,

if you get a good rep, they will sort you out,

others will tell you as a launch unit it's "out of warranty" just tell them you don't want a warranty repair, you want the repaired under the Irish 6 years Statutory rights:

    https://www.eccireland.ie/ecc-ireland-issues-advisory-on-consumer-warranties-and-statutory-rights/

you can easily prove this is a fault with the manufacture of this product as it's so well known and not related to mis-use,

Oh I'm very good at arguing, especially when I need to fight my corner! Currently battling it out with Banggood! They sent me a FIMI drone with the seal clearly cut with something sharp that was then sellotaped up to try and cover it. I'd be OK but it's an Xmas gift for my nephew and no way he's getting it like that! I paid for brand new, not someone else's cast off!Thank God I paid for it with PayPal!

Back to the Switch and thanks a million for that advice mate. I'll certainly quote what you mentioned.

    Cheers,
    M

Anyone use a Bluetooth adapter for the switch?

Looking for one that ideally could be used with a TV as well

Probably Majora too. And I'd happily snap that up!

Wouldnt a WindWaker, Twilight and Skyward triple pack make more sense? Since those were home console games already; cant imagine what the Ocarina and Majora remakes resolutions would look like stretched to 1080p on a big TV.

Ocarina ROM is already available in 1080p and looks fantastic. And I played it on a 100 inch screen.

I'd like to see Skyward sword in it too, but I'm not too optimistic

That looks unreal. Do you mind me asking where one can access that?

On a PC. Its the Ocarina N64 ROM played on the Project 64 emulator with an added "texture pack" to bring it to HD.

I've also very childishly changed Links name a couple of times.

The sharp edges, vaguely repeating textures and spaces more-or-less empty of models remind me of almost every PC game from the 90's. Beautiful in its own way but my memories of Oot are so different. The mind and memory play all sorts of tricks.

Link's eyes are so blue, too much spice.

I feel like I'm the only one that really loved Skyward Sword, much preferred it to Twilight Princess and it even edges out Wind Waker for me.

    Same for me.

Managed to finish SS after about 8 years of "are we nearly there".
Still to finish TP and WW.
    BOTW > OOT > SS > WW > TP.
I think I'm done with pre BOTW 3D Zelda.
Have to try again with MM, but it's too dark pour moi.

Still need to really start 2D ALTTP and to finish ALBW.

Love ALBW but have got sidetracked. Brilliant game.
Would love to see similar on Switch.
And I mean a modern top down Zelda ( not Links Awakening )

Or 69.99 when you pay Nintendo for it next year on Switch :)
