Physical only. When you click on “download code” on a game’s Amazon page, the text “Aktuelle Angebote: 3 für 2” disappears. So let’s say for a game such as Super Mario Odyssey, not o lu the download is 10 euros more expensive but on top of that it doesn’t qualify for this types deal :-s

Ok ok ok! I get it! Dark Souls is hard! That wasn't the question.
Which of the following has controls, camera, interface, whatever that most closely resembles Dark Souls?
    Soul Caliber
    Dragon Age
    Bombjack
    Half Life
    Resident Evil 4
    Picross
    Bayonetta
    Qix
    Super Mariokart
    Zork
    Colonisation
(you can pick 2 if you really want)

And no, no I can't be arsed watching gameplay videos on youtube. Just because I have this luxurious homeless-dude beard, doesn't make me some sort of hipster millenial obsessed with authenticity and yet experiencing everything inauthentically by proxy. I want old school opinions of other people in plain text!

Thats the thing, dark souls is Dark Souls, its its own damn genre at this point and othes making games on that design. No of them would resamble it, the onky game which would in its idea was already mentioned: Monster Hunter.
You need to play it, to get the sense of what the game does and how it works.

You'll play the same 5 minutes of gameplay for about 4 hours straight dying in subtly different ways each time while cursing the very existence of the game, and yet once you get past that section you'll cheerily stumble on to the next section to be brutally and repeatedly murdered yet again.

That was pretty much my experience of both Demon's and Dark Souls.
But break on through and it's just the best thing ever.

that video - which seems to have mysteriously disappeared - makes it look like Severance... So it's a really hard 3rd-person action adventure and loot-management game? Grand so, look forward to that coming out.

Its video game masochism is what it is, so should be obvious who it will appeal to around here :)

just remember to rol, always be rolling and when not rolling butt stab always be butt stabbing. also as said combat wise its probably closest to monster hunter.

it is extremely difficult learning curve but once you git gud you'll really only die outside of boss battles when its your own fault

Gamestop and CEX really are terrible. Was in all the stores checking their prices on Switch stuff to compare with online. Just take the Switch Pro Controller. CEX are selling it secondhand for €75. They offer just €32 cash. The Switch Pro Controller can be bought new and delivered online for €65. Then there's Gamestop, they sell it new for €85, sell it secondhand for €60. They offer just €21 if you sell it back to them or €27 for store credit. The thing is they both have stock of secondhand Switch Pro Controllers, people are getting hammered. Crazy.

Gamestop still have ludicrous prices on their Wii U stuff. Secondhand Switch games are just €5 cheaper than the new price, the new prices being ludicrous too. I took window photos of CEX Switch products a couple of months ago. I might post them up later or reference some of them. Here's one more, they sell Switch consoles on their own for €365, secondhand of course. I feel sorry for anyone who pay these prices.

A lot of prices are nonsensical in CEX and Gamestop but I find CEX good for trading in games. Don't think i've ever bought a game there though, always get cash. I noticed the same in CEX over the weekend, 2nd hand switch dearer than walking a few doors down to Argos and getting it new same with accessories.

My switch arrived today with Rabbids, Mario Odyssey came separately yesterday and pro controller due to arrive tomorrow. Glad I got the Pro now, the joycons in the handle thing was a bit small for me. Actually the whole thing was a bit smaller than I expected. Just had a look at it though as not allowed open until christmas. Looking forward to it now. Will get a pair of grey joycons soon enough I think, hate the coloured ones.

All thats left now is to get MK8, maybe BotW if it goes on offer anywhere and a case and I'll be set for now. Will get an SD card in the new year.

I don't get why Cex hasn't lowered their switch prices, since the stock shortages are generally gone now.

Has anyone played lumo (even on others formats)? Loved some of the isometric games back in the day and very tempted to treat myself to this.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I finished it on the PS4. It's...decent. The iso view can hamper you somewhat in terms of accurately predicting what exact direction you're facing. Other than that it plays well.

The game itself was enjoyable enough. It didn't overstay it's welcome. A simple puzzler with some tricky sections especially if you wish to collect everything.

I got it 'free' as part of the PS Plus subscription. I'm not sure how much it is going for on the Switch but I don't know if I would recommend it above the €20 range.

Don't set your expectations too high and I'd say you'll enjoy it especially if you're a fan of the genre.

It's like Knight Lore and Alien8 all over again, and all the problems that the POV brought.
I tried it, for old times sake, but just couldn't enjoy it, like Pac1Man I got it with PS+ but haven't reinstalled it.

    Which game looks like severance?

I really enjoyed severance. Don't remember it being horribly difficult.

The Neon controllers are horrible looking, probably made worse by the mismatch in colours. I think all the other controller colours look nice enough though. The yellow is probably best. Nintendo really are milking it with the accessories, not just with the price but if you want your Joy-Con's to be all one colour with the controller strap on, you've to fork out yet more money. When you think about the Wii U, it never got any other colours besides the black and white from launch. The most they ever did was a bit of gold gilding around the gamepad for the Wind Waker HD bundle. Look how many different colours there are for the Joy-Con's. The same goes for the Pro Controller. Black and white only for Wii U. And you had to import the white one if you wanted it. Smyths stopped stocking the Wii U Pro Controller after about 6 months. There's already 3 different Switch Pro controller colours.

    In your opinion #opinionsarenotfacts
I think all the other controller colours look nice enough though.

A compliment, could it be the war against the Switch is over???

    Nope, the war continues!!
When you think about the Wii U, it never got any other colours besides the black and white from launch. The most they ever did was a bit of gold gilding around the gamepad for the Wind Waker HD bundle.

What else could one need to say about the misery heaped on WiiU owners?
And what else needs to be said about they being further insulted by the existence of the Switch???

Look how many different colours there are for the Joy-Con's.

Indescribable crimes against humanity, call the UN quick!

What sort of fiends are Nintendo at all?
    And Smyth's are complicit!

    Such an axis of evil!
There's already 3 different Switch Pro controller colours.
    My gods!
    The Horror, the HORROR!

Hang on. There are plenty of people who absolutely love the neon controllers (though personally I prefer the grey ones). However, you find them horrible looking.

So the very fact that different people can have such diametrically opposite views on something like controller colour is proof enough that Nintendo are absolutely correct to offer as many different options as possible.

That's not "milking it" that's understanding that your customers have a broad range of preferences and offering them choices. Same deal, if you want new joy cons then there is an accessory you can buy or not buy depending on your preference for all one colour or black straps (all joy cons come with the black controller straps).

You are basically complaining that they are offering a bunch of choices but you have to pay up if you want one of those.

Yes, there's already 3 different pro controllers but you don't have to buy any of them. You certainly don't have to buy 3 pro controllers just because Nintendo released 3 different ones.

I don't see how they are "milking it"? Nobody is forced to buy any of this stuff.

Going to trade in Wii U Zelda but debating whether to get rid of the console and all the games too.

No, I'm saying if you want matching Joy-Con's and straps you've to pay extra. I'm well aware that they all ship with black straps. Why not ship Joy-Con's with matching colour straps? And for me, I think a Switch Pro Controller is a necessary purchase.
