Why are people stacking so much, is it a limited offer? Is there no cost to upgrade from gold to ultimate?

Right now it's a straight upgrade, 12 months of Live becomes 12 months of GPU; but eventually they'll change it so that the upgrade is pro rata'd so that 12 months of Live will become 4 months of GPU. No one has any clue as to when they'll stop the straight upgrade.

Ah ok I’m slowly getting this now! So I have the 3 month ultimate for €1 at the moment, do I need to wait for that to expire and then stack some gold?

Yes, I believe that'll work still, but I think you'll need to pay full price for a month of GPU, as the €1 deal is for new customers only I think.

They did the €1 deal around black Friday 2018 if it is anything like prime it probably works on the calendar year, I got it in 2018 and 2019.

IMO: They will most likely not do it when the new gen is released or it will be revised as mentioned a few posts ago and convert 12 months to 4 months Ultimate or something.

I'm in the same boat with mine it will expire mid January will probably stack as much as I can and upgrade at full price. There'll be an end to the madness eventually.

It's shared across all profiles though isn't it? So creating a new profile stacking gold and upgrading should give your main profile access?

As long as it is the primary console of the profile with GPU. You will lose any game you got from GwG on the original profile until gold is renewed on it though.

Starting to think I wasn't greedy enough with my initial stacking and $1 upgrade to Ultimate. Has anyone tried cancelling Ultimate, stacking more gold and then $1 upgrading to Ultimate again?

Ive been away from my Xbox for a few months and gold has lapsed. Im a bit confused as to the best thing to do from this thread to maximise the current offers. Can someone post what they recommend as a step by step? Is it to buy xbox gold then upgrade to Game Pass?

The best deal is to buy three years of Gold from somewhere cheap, like cdkeys or similar, load all three years on, and then finally take advantage of the €1 Game Pass Ultimate deal. This will get you three years of Ultimate, which includes Gold, Game Pass, and Game Pass for PC.

Sent this to my brother recently and it worked great for him. Prices may have changed and CD Keys may not be the cheapest.
    1. buy 2 x 12 months of xbox live gold - https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-live-gold-membership-xbox-one-360-eu-cd-key and 1 6 month code - https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/xbox-6-month-eu
    2. apply one code and, when asked, enable recurring billing for a free month = 13 months
    3. turn off recurring billing
    4. apply the second code and, when asked, enable recurring billing for a free month = 26 months
    5. turn off recurring billing
    6. apply 6 month live gold (I don't think it will give you a free month for recurring billing this time) = 32 months
    7. ensure recurring billling is off and sign up to 3 months of game pass ultimate (your screenshot) for 1 euro = 35 months of game pass ultimate

In your link for the game pass the 12 months is €45 and says “EU” but there is another 12 month offer for €47 at the bottom of the page that says “Xbox one/360”. Any difference?

I guess the other one is global but I am not sure. My brother is in Ireland and the EU one worked. I just went with cheapest at the time.

apparently Control is showing up on some versions of the gamepass app (seen on reddit), so looks like its coming after all.

No sign of Control on the app I have, but it shows Frost Punk and SAO: Fatal Bullet as coming on Thursday and Tekken 7 on the 16th.

Frost Punk and FTL also confirmed for PC.

Are you downloading something else? Sometimes I have to pause current download in order to boot a game.

I too have been away from xbox for the last while (2 and a half years) but I'm tempted back by game pass now.
Another question though regarding it. I have no interest in playing games online against people. Cdkeys currently have an offer where you can buy a month of game pass for €1.79. Would I not be better off buying a load of these codes instead of stacking xbox live gold subscriptions and then converting?
If I buy 12 of the 1 month codes that's a year of game pass for €21.48.
    Or am I missing something?

They are for new accounts only. You would be only be able to redeem 1!

When you click through to the month pass, it's for new Live accounts only, so that reads to me like you can only use it for the first month.

Might be wrong, but if you do use it, and it is as it looks to me, you're risking not being able to do the gold upgrade method.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Ok. Thanks for that guys. Was wondering how they were offering that so cheap. Is the only way to subscribe to game pass as an existing member through the xbox website so? Or is there anywhere you can get monthly codes for slightly cheaper?

You can still use the other passes that cd keys sell, the three month etc.

I went the gold upgrade way. Purchased years of gold for brasil (with vpn) then got the 3 month trial for ultimate game pass from my xbox which converted my years of gold to ultimate.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

You can still use it for the GPU upgrade. The GPU converts all the remaining time on Gold AND Game Pass to GPU. It is not counted as having GPU so the €1 upgrade will still be available.

Cool good to know. Might just get a one year subscription and upgrade that. Not sure how much il get to use it but for €40 or so it's with a trial.

Edit: actually if I just buy 4 of the 3 month passes I can get a year of it for €37.50. Great deal.

I thought FF XV was amazing, sunk over 100 hours into it. Guess I better bring Wolfenstein: Youngblood into CEX tomorrow, couldn't get into it.
