I've no problem with vaping. The vapor they exhale in no way compares with conventional smoke from a lit cigarette.

I used one for a while, when I was quitting. I'd always go outside with the smokers when I needed it.

I think it was more the ritual of standing in the smoking area and talking.

I have a kanger subtank kit. It's lovely. Produces huge clouds of vapour and is really enjoyable to use. I tried using it whilst walking though. It just produced clouds that hung over the footpath for ages. So now I only use it at home.
The smaller kits are grand though. I've even had friends who said that they'd be walking along and see someone smoking. The person would exhale and my friends would be bracing themselves because they were going to walk into cigarette smoke. Then they smell it and it's a lovely fruity smell.

I'd imagine walking behind someone using the big cloud producing ones would be annoying but the others are grand.

Sometimes I pass a vaper and whatever juice they have in their e-cig smells amazing! Once walked behind a guy who was vaping and it had a very sweet and fruity smell, like fizzy sweets or something. Part of me wanted to follow him around all day. Definitely preferable to cigarette smoke anyway.

If I was a vaper though I think I'd be constantly terrified that the thing would explode in my mouth! Even though I'm sure it's extremely unlikely to ever happen with proper care, I saw pictures of a guy whose e-cig blew up in his mouth and they were not pretty.

Totally get where you're coming from on that, those stories are enough to scare ya half to death.

But I would like to point out that failing a fault in the device itself, proper battery safety and knowledge will avoid any of those issues.
Yes there are issues with batteries overheating or shorting out, but if you learn to recognise the signs of these issues BEFORE you buy one, you should never have a problem.

I know a few people who use them and insist on blowing the foul vapour into our faces, thinking it's funny. And I was a bit surprised to hear that kids are going crazy for them now and they're skipping cigarettes, going straight into vaping in school toilets.

It's not as if most kids, or even adults for that matter, initially started smoking because they simply loved the feeling of inhaling tobacco into their lungs. Hence it's no surprise that as vaping becomes more popular, kids will start vaping too. The plus side is that it's less harmful.

I don't give a flying fcuk how ridiculous I look. They got me off cigarettes. Saved me €500 a month and my lungs are pink again!

Meh. Vaping is saving lives. Having said that, I use a small device only slightly larger than a cigarette, it doesn't make big clouds and I've never blown it in someone's face (except once, when a friend said it smelled amazing and asked me to).

I sleep better, I feel better, I'm fitter and I spend about €30-€40 euro a month on supplies, compared to €40-€50 a week I used to spend on cigarettes. I've reduced my nicotine level down slightly over time too.

Quite simply, I've been tobacco free for 4 and a half years and seen numerous benefits to that. I couldn't give less of a **** to how uncool other people think it is.

Im an ex smoker. I smoked for 24 years until i started vaping 4 years ago . I have a 14 year old son and i'd prefer ( if he decied to experiment as most kids do ) to find an ecig in his pocket than 20 john player blue .

But you'd have to deal with the fact that you raised a self-entitled arsehole.. Better to find the smokes.

Off them 2 years thanks to vaping.

6months to a year and I'll have a deposit for my mortgage. I definitely don't regret swapping my "cool" fags for a ecig. I also don't preach to smokers . Ive had it left on the table when mostly smokers come up and start ****eing on about it being worse for me ;I tell them to ****ing mind their own .

I fail to see how it being "stupid looking" has to do with anything.

Many/most smokers want to quit, but are terrified of the process. And serious addicts cannot imagine life without fags, and they will literally spend their last tenner on a box. Cigarettes become a part of who they are. Sounds ridiculous, but it can be true. They just can't see how they can have a cup of tea, have a beer, even enjoy a meal, without the delicious and satisfying smoke.

People are lucky if they can quit cold turkey or with NRT, but many struggle, so vaping is ideal and by far less damaging and much cheaper.

It perplexes me how people get irritated by vaping.

This and what the OP said is like someone asking why all gay males have to be flamboyant and camp. In actual fact only a small percentage of gay males are flamboyant and camp.....but they are the only type of gay male you'll actually realise are gay. Classic confirmation Bias. Similarly, you'll only notice the Bearded Hipster sitting outside the Vegan Gluten Free Coffeeshop blowing Mushroom Clouds of vaper from his Giant Silver Mod. You are not noticing the vast majority of us quickly pulling out our ecig from our pockets for a few quick pulls and hardly emitting any vaper.

Please tell us what we can do or say to disabuse you of the notion that we Vape to look cool. We vape regardless of how cool or stupid it looks. We vape because we are nicotine addicts and finally have a method of ingestion that doesn't harm our own bodies, doesn't harm others and saves us an absolute fortune. Nicotine has a harm profile similar to caffeine. Coffee addicts always had a safe mode of ingestion in the form of a drink. Nicotine addicts methods of ingestion up till the advent of ecigs was cigarettes. It'd be like caffeine addicts needing to inject their caffeine hit with a dirty infected needle every time. But what about Nicotine Patches? Well, would a Caffeine Tablet work for you when part of your caffeine addiction is the flavour of coffee and smells and the social aspect of coffee shops. With ecigs, we nicotine addicts finally have something much more akin to your cups of coffee.

We don't necessarily agree that we look stupid vaping but regardless, WE DON'T CARE IF WE LOOK STUPID!!
