    11. No.

Googled to see and he (King) is worth $400 million :)

I'd be nearly positive this guy is a multi millionaire though.

George RR Martin was my first thought but a quick Google says he's worth "only" $65 million. So somebody more popular than him??

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Oh wait, it's Stephen King that's worth $400 million, not our guy.

Completely off topic, but I just Googled the highest net worth authors and according to this, Elisabeth Badinter is the richest. And I've never even heard of her!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,941 ✭✭✭osh

    Edited it for clarification anyway!

Cool, that rules out a few, including Martin.

Wonder if we narrowed it down between Fantasy and Sci-Fi if it'd help?

I'd have been thinking Martin too but then no adaptation made me think Dean Koontz until I recalled that at least one of his have been adapted into a movie.

Sci-fi vs fantasy is probably the way to go.

    Not a guess.
have we narrowed down surnames yet, have we ruled out terry brooks?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Terry Brooks is a great guess. No, we've not narrowed him down.

Everyone else I could think if was *just* under 65, annoyingly so. Or dead. Or British.

When you mentioned Terry, Terry Goodkind came to mind too

I see he wrote legend of the seeker that was made into a tv series

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,512 ✭✭✭munster87

And seems same goes for Brooks with the shannara chronicles

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

The Shannara Chronicles are a terry brooks adaption, so rules him out.

what about raymond e feist, i'll look for adations by him.

Not made yet, Riftwar tv series. Note: Because this project is categorized as in development, the data is only available on IMDbPro and is subject to change.

I know didly squat about authors. Are there any awards you could ask about?

Yeah, was thinking about awards too, but I'm not sure what the "Oscars" of the genre are. I've Googled several different awards for fantasy and sci-fi, but I don't know which is the one to be asking about. Maybe some others know better.
