A boring Ake to Holgate, which could be a .2 by Start of next GW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,113 ✭✭✭✭Cartman78

Pogba to Sanchez done.....really want to get rid of a few more but have taken enough hits at this stage so will wait until wildcard to clear out the deadwood.

Pogba and Payet really didn't work out ....Eriksen and Antonio were the alternatives :-(

Aguero to Big ROM and sideways move of Coutinho in for Lallana.

Are we thinking Holgate is a regular now ?

Stanislas on penalties is interesting but will hold pending Giroud news.

He might be if Koeman continues playing 3-5-2 but he seems to mix it up depending on the opposition. Can't see him starting ahead of FM or Jagielka in a 4-4-2.

Yeah. Similar thinking but you'd hope that the success today with that formation would encourage it more often.

Would like to get him in but mainly as he's due to rise tonight.

Same as, had him before and got rid with him non-starting.

Snoggy to him may well be my transfer next week.

Due to rise which will give us time to see how things play out without losing any value. You would think he'll see some gametime given how successful the formation was today

Snodgrass --> Phillips. Snodgrass fixtures are beyond terrible, Phillips' are good. Snodgrass has done well over the last few weeks but can't see him out scoring Phillips now due to the fixtures.

taking a -8 to fix the -8 i took last week

    Banking and confidently starting Ake....

    Shame Jones hasn't risen recently.

I'm really struggling with moving him out for Baines.

I think United stand a real good chance almost every single week of a clean sheet but Baines is winking at me like a Bàstard and I'm need deep in conundrum.

I have Brunt and Alonso so in theory I could move out Brunt but that seems samey.

Looks very likely that Baines will rise again tonight so it's decision time but losing the potential (and cheap) United clean sheets is so so hard to give up.

I know Jones is offering nothing other than clean sheets. I also know that big Morgan, in the middle, will increase the Everton clean sheet potential.

    Any strong opinions ?

KDB to Eriksen done, probably do Siggy to Couthinho for a -4

    Banking pending news on Giroud.

A boring Ake to Chambers already done.

May need to take a -4 to fix my mistake in getting Clayton instead of de Roon last week to save the 0.1m, but I'll wait and see if there are any other fires to put out first (i.e. Giroud).

Don't like the idea of taking a hit for a player I'm planning to bench, but none of my subs played a single minute this week!

I have just enough to do Aké to Alonso and Giroud to Lukaku. If I lose any value I won't be able to. Yes? No?

I'd go for it. Jones has no attacking threat whatsoever (doesn't go up for set pieces) and Baines is on pens sometimes playing wingback.

It's a good long term move too with Jones probably having blanks in gw26 and gw28 while Baines has no blanks.

He doesn't go up for set pieces ? If that's really true then he is gone but if it is true then he must be the only centre back in the league that doesn't.

My only other option is to upgrade Amat to Friend so i have a regular first team player on my bench.

I've noticed that Jones is now slightly closer to a rise than Baines. If he could rise before him then I'd definitely pull the trigger.

Nope, Rojo goes up but not Jones from the last two games anyway.

That is bizarre. Definite goner so.

Lukaku or Kane? My bias against Lukaku is that he's let me down so many times.

Who are your other defenders? Just seeing would it be possible for you to have both baines & Jones.
Uniteds fixtures are really good for the next while and while Jones offers no attacking threat there will be a lot of 6 points from him.
At his price, to have a way into the United defence I'd keep him.
I wouldn't advise against Baines either though, such a great attacking threat & if they can add in clean sheets now too he's a bargain at his price this season.
Anywhere else you could potentially get the baines money & keep Jones?

Your user name suggests that you have strong opinions about Baines yourself.:D
It is difficult not to have United cover, I have Valencia at the moment but may have to move him on for Alonso as I don't think I can go without him. I will be keeping Baines though.

I've Brunt, Alonso and Jones. Not enough spare cash to upgrade Amat to Baines although that would change in 2-3 weeks if Aguero is still prícking about.

I can see from your response that you're seeing my dilemma. I'd prefer Baines but I can see quite a few upcoming United clean sheets.

Sterling out to someone, but will wait on Giroud news before doing anything.

Yeah it's a very tough call. I think Baines probably edges it (even with the extra money required) and with west broms fixtures for next 6 I'd be hanging onto brunt and hoping nyom is back so he gets pushed into midfield.
If going 433 isn't an option and playing baines - alonso - brunt - Jones while downgrading 4th mid for cash to get baines in for Amat isn't an option (I've never really been a fan of 4 at the back mysel) I'd probably reluctantly sacrifice Jones.
As someone else pointed out, he could miss gw 26 & 28 anyway.
It is a tough call though.

    ^^^^^

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'll do it but I'll keep a close eye on the price rise before I do it.

The pull to do it is too strong and Jones feels like the safer option and that's just not my style.
