Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whats the cost of the tickets, does anyone know?. Cheers

Delighted with the announcement but tickets maybe hard too get as its one date but I imagine the Friday or Sunday will be added ???. I'd prefer a Friday show myself

For the fan club pre sales I think there are a number of pre-sales with long-term members (don't know what defines long term ?) Getting first dibs and then others. I joined in September 2015 so I'm not sure what pre-sale I'll get

I renewed mine last night. Heard that if you renew it after they announce gigs you might not get a code. Probably would still get one but didn't want to take the chance. And they will announce a tour here between now and this time next year unless we are really unlucky, so I think its worth the renew.

Have you been contacted yet with a presage code?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,289 ✭✭✭Veloce

I renewed mine last week. Didn't get any presale code yet.

    Ticket limits
    Presale Limit = 4 General Onsale = 8

8 is a bit much for a gig like this!! Touts'll be happy though.

I checked the leinster GAA hurling and football finals and have come to the conclusion that if the gig is on in croke park then it will be Jully 21st 22nd... would that be about right

Thanks for that, booked hotel last night and I can see hotel I booked has already increased the prices by 50% !

Looks like the presale openings are for longer subscribers first. Similar to the way they did the 360 tour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,445 ✭✭✭WeleaseWoderick

Was previously a subscriber (I think for Vertigo tour) but just renewed now. Plenty of mention on the website about signing up now to gain access to the presales so can't see it being an issue to join after the dates have been announced.

Any idea on breakdown? How much are pitch tickets?
Red zone tickets are 315 quid. Presume thats the pit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,870 ✭✭✭Redo91

Will I be able to avail of the presale if I sign up now? Also will it be necessary? I'm guessing this could even be sold out before it goes on general sale but maybe I'm wrong.

Coldplay and other major gigs are now looking for between 80 and 100 for the pitch tickets so you'd probably be looking at that for this too, and they'll have no problem selling them at that level either.

If the coldplay gig is anything to go by then I'd say you be lucky to get tickets for this on general release

Codes are up online - u2.com

    Just got mine.

Don't know if I am in the Redhill group (9am Wednesday) or the Wires group (9am Thursday).

Edit - I am in the Wires group. Damn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,064 ✭✭✭✭Seve OB

If U2 are to play croke park in summer of 2017, it will be announced by now. No doubt about that. I don't see tickets going on sale in January for gigs to take place for around July. That's a 6 month time frame. The timeframe is usually longer 7/8/9 months+ between ticket sales and gigs taking place.

    Ahem, you were saying???? :D

If you go in to tours it tells you over on the left hand side of the screen.

    $50.

Not sure if it's worth it as this stage. I can't see there being too many pre-sale tickets left after 24 hours.

Looks like the red zone is a little square right beside the stage.

Anyone know how much pitch 2 would be? I'm guessing around €150

    "Wednesday, Jan. 11, 9am
    - Presales open"

    Redhill group then. Yay!
I've been registered continuously since 2009, I had been hoping that was 'long term' enough.

I'd imagine pitch 2 just means If you arrive early enough to get "pit" access. Pitch standing price seems the same for pitch 1 and 2.

Don't see an issue regarding the presale

The entire tour goes on presale on Wednesday and Thursday, not just the Dublin date.

Whether it's Wednesday or Thursday we get them, we'll still get the tickets or have a better chance than the general public will have.

The important thing is that they play Electric Co.

Why even mention it on TMs site then? Seems odd but they just have "standing". Nothing about pitch 1 and 2 being different prices.
    They should just say
Pitch 1: People who are on the ball.
Pitch 2: One gig a decade bogwarriors from the midlands with tricolours in pink cowgirl hats.

Seems strange alright, but the price breakdown regions on the bottom left of the same pic only show 1 breakdown for pitch.

Twickenham has the whole pitch in general as one. Not split into two.

No way they're going to charge different prices for different sections of the pitch. Red Zone is a different matter

Wondering what the 'Gold and Silver' tickets are - would that be Pitch 1 and 2?

Silver and Gold are VIP seats, with certain things like lamented programme, t shirte etc thrown in

The Joshua Tree, as good as it is, is only 11 songs. That's about half their normal setlist. Will this be reflected in the ticket prices I wonder? :pac:

Ummm.....they'll be playing other songs too dude :D

heh, they could double up and do matinee shows then.

They''ll drop the album mid way through the gig after a load of their recent tunes that all sound like the Killers/Kasabian and sometimes Keane.

That fúcking dreadful Joey Ramone one for example. If the Kaiser Chiefs did that people would slag it.

So lads what do you reckon will be the percentage of tickets held back for general sale? And is there any indication of how much standing tickets are? Hardly €150 for the whole pitch?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,013 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

At 315 quid, they should rename the Redzone the "Cúnts Zone"

  • Registered Users Posts: 401 ✭✭martin101

Lads where does it say that wires group can only get tickets on Thursday? Can't see it on the u2 site.

£78 quid for a standing ticket in London

    That'll be 90 euro then

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,268 ✭✭✭✭MadYaker

The reason I said €150 for pitch 1 is because I thought the pitch would be split in two like on the ticketmaster link I posted above and that would be the price for the pit. Like GnR are doing for slane. Apparently that's not the case though? So it'll probably be around €100 for standing and if you want to be in the pit get there early.

  • Registered Users Posts: 401 ✭✭martin101

Probably better I can only get tickets Thursday. Don't get paid until then. Saves me asking for a loan until I get paid the next day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,289 ✭✭✭Veloce

I hope to fook there are still some presale tickets left for Croker on Thursday. Otherwise I'll have to join the rat race on Monday morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,859 ✭✭✭SteM

8 tickets per person on the general sale, what a ****ing joke. Ticketmaster and promoters really don't care about touting at all.

Are public sale tickets going to be available on u2.com or ticketmaster? Does anyone know what time does the public sale start next Monday?
