Not very good really, those GBS boards are the very bottom of the pile when it comes to scalers.

Spotted a free flat screen CRT on adverts... Could be good for any of you with the space for it!

That dude selling professional degaussers still has two left on ebay (I'm not a shill, I swear!) they're really really good.

That's really weird re the shipping! When I bought my one from him I think the shipping was only about a fiver.

Maybe ask for an invoice before paying just in case he brings it down a bit?

Even if you did pay that shipping price, it's still a bargain.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,780 ✭✭✭eddhorse

Yeah £21 for me too for a £10 item, messaged him anyways as it looks like a 48 hour courier.

    Damn, must have changed the postage for some reason. Dug out my old invoice for it (bought it on the 18th of December apparently!) and it says the following;

    TV Degaussing Rod
    1 £10.00
    Subtotal: GBP 10.00
Shipping and handling via Royal Mail 2nd Class: GBP 4.00
    Total: GBP 14.00

Oh well, should be one of those life long purchases! may your CRTs be forever degaussed :D

I got my haul of stuff from this guy.
Apparently it was his plan to set up an online store for retro stuff but after a month he didn't sell anything.
As a result he's shifting his entire stock.

There are some really nice prices there! Someone should nab that PAL Super Punchout for €20.

Weird about his store btw, first I've heard of it!

He was a real nice guy.
I met him outside his apartment but he had gotten the order wrong so, I ended up being invited into his apartment as he went through his boxes of stock until the order was right.
He has plenty of nice stuff, tempted to buy a few more bits, especially at the prices he's quoting.
And, I would imagine, if he gets a decent bit of business from this little bit of exposure here, he could keep bringing stuff in.
Even at the standard prices it's comparatively cheap.

Does the Pocketstation you bought from him work? Or have you had a chance to try it out? Have meant to pick one of them up for years.

I have yet to try it out, but it looks perfect, comes with the pocketstationTM lanyard strap thingy.

I didn't get a chance to try anything, but the Saturn controller is lovely, heavy and solid, and the Spice GC is just gorgeous

Is he based up in Dublin? I'm tempted to pick up a JP Saturn and a few games and he doesn't ship to Clare.

He's based not far from the Blanchardstown M50 exit, in Ashtown.
he's super handy to find and has tons of good stuff.
The Virtua Gun I picked up was minty fresh in an excellent condition box.
If you are heading for the airport it's only a 40 minute detour, there and back.

Would be open to swaps if someone has something interesting. It's taking up way too much space in my hallway at the moment!

    So the degauss tool arrived.
Cheeky git, it has a Royal Mail stamp on it for £2.90, not sure where he got the £21 from, should i report that or give negative feedback?

To be fair it's still a great price for a proper one, I was using a Chinese one wrapped in insulating tape cause the plastic outer had melted. Lol

€28 for an unboxed Super Probotector.
    Cheaper than most tbh

So queried the seller and got an £18 refund for shipping :)
When the item was listed, the rates table for postage box was checked, which means that anyone from Northern Ireland, the Highlands, Isle of Man etc, will pay more for postage.

Did anyone else get stuff from the gentleman in Ashtown?
Might dip back in, after I pick up the PSX, assuming I've some money left!

Anyone looking for a HDMI to SDI adapter so you can get your HD consoles running on a broadcast monitor? (monitor would need to have SDI support)

Tested and works perfectly, I just ended up with two due to slow China post!

If you do go back can you pick me up one of those broken Famicom disk systems?

I will, I'll let you know if I'm heading that way.
The disk systems probably only need a belt.
